He's taller than Cruise, Hoffman, DeNiro and Pacino. Whether he's uglier than any of those people is opinion.

Oh, he's far uglier than all of them.

I was really enjoying the movies until the last 45 minutes. Then it became totally unrealistic and absurd.

NP. It seemed like the producers thought, let's take Brideshead Revisited and "update" it with "shocking" scenes, steal some Ripley and warp Tom Cruise's naked dance. PP who said these tropes are getting tired is spot on.

This movie was something. Parts made my stomach turn. I loved Elspeth. I could listen to her all day.

Nude dancing seemed to work.

He really looked half Asian for this film.

Agree.

But it was entertaining and drove home how psychotic he was and all the lying and masking he was doing all along.

Dude had a prosthetic nose in this, right? Or CGI? It was kind of uncanny valley but I couldn't put my finger on it. The actor isn't as ugly in real life. Not conventionally attractive but I think he's striking.

Jacob Elordi though....I'd never seen him before. What a heartbreaker.

Yes.

I finally watched it last night and my take was it was a gross Talented Mr. Ripley. I actually thought the story had a lot of potential and some parts were really well done/worked really well. But this is a case of the sum not being greater than the whole of its parts.

Was bummed that Carey Mulligan got like three scenes and then was gone. Rosamund Pike was great in this, but she needed a little more over the top-ness. Barry Keoghan was amazing and on point throughout the entire film. But he was so odd from the get go that you knew something was off. So the "reveal" that he was a sociopathic serial killer wasn't that shocking.

ITA with the review that said the entire film existed for its coda of Keoghan dancing naked.

I think it would have actually been a good movie if A24 picked it up instead. Instead it was visually stunning and entertaining but very shallow and pointless.

Huh?

He had a prosthetic willy.

Yes on Elordi, wasn’t he on snl or some talk show and based in LA for a bit now?

No comment on the willy, I'm asking about the nose. I'm almost positive his nose isn't as big in real life as it was in the movie.

Doubt it. Maybe it was the makeup

I'm looking for pictures to demonstrate what I saw and now I'm thinking it was just the glasses that made his nose look more big and bulbous in the movie.

Did anybody else think blasting Zadoc the Priest at the very start was cringy? I mean, I love Zadoc the Priest--for coronations and maybe the odd wedding. But Saltburn apparently wanted us to think the Jacob Elordi character was some sort of king-god, so they went with that to help us simple viewers get it. It was downhill from there, although I did watch until the end.

You should read the Reddit discussions about the main character. Like half the women in the US and completely infatuated with him. I didn’t think drinking semen bathwater or having a woman taste her own menstruation blood was that hot…
