The parents are dead - both of them. Of course the grandmother is going to get custody. There's no one else?
Of course Fotis' grifting Greek sister flew in pre-pandemic to try to grab the house but no-go. Fotis’ sister from Greece, Rena, filed court papers seeking to block the appointment of a caretaker for his Farmington home, citing plans to remain there while dealing with the fallout of his death by suicide. The request was denied, according to court documents. ... Gloria Farber, the mother of Dulos’ estranged wife, Jennifer Farber Dulos, had filed the motion Thursday when Dulos was still in critical condition, suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning, before his death just after 5:30 p.m. |
| The house isn’t worth anything anyway. Mortgaged to the max. |
This makes a lot of sense. Gloria sounds like a force to be reckoned with. Ha. I'm rooting for her. I'm sure the kids will be well taken care of, and Gloria has the smarts and the funds to hire good nannies to help in day-to-day. Nothing wrong with that. |
People in NYC were/are desperate to get SFHs in good school zones close to the city mid-pandemic. The Dulos house would have been perfect and gone above asking. |
I'm the one who posted the comment above. I am aware that we are not the ones deciding custody(?). I guess I care because I have followed this story, was catching up on this thread, and, as a native Greek speaker, noticed some stuff that I thought was worth sharing with others who read this thread. I am strongly rooting for those kids. It does seem like Gloria is a badass with ample resources. From a total outsider's perspective, it seems to like the best outcome by far would be for the kids to stay in the area where they grew up, with their mother's family, hopefully with the heroic nanny somewhere nearby at all times. |
Unconscionable! This is the appropriate time to say, but the children?!! Deplorable skum. Boycott Lifetime. |

Wow - Jennifer Dulos' mother won a settlement in court. The defense attorney's for Fotis Dulos were forced to return $137,000 out of a $250,000 retainer and they are banned from speaking about the case for 40 years or profiting off the details via book and movie deals.

Yay for badass grandma! Thank you for the update, OP. |
I don't understand why this case still hasn't gone to trial. |
Because the murderer killed himself? |
| It’s been two years. The children can decide for themselves at this point except the youngest. Who wants to split up this traumatized family? |

Oh wow there's a law named after her now - specifically dedicated to coercive control.
In May 2021, a domestic violence bill – so-called "Jennifers' Law" – received near unanimous support in the Connecticut State Senate. The proposed law is named after two victims of domestic violence in Connecticut, both named Jennifer. In 2019, Jennifer Dulos disappeared from New Canaan, Connecticut; her estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, was charged, among others, with her murder. In January 2020, Fotis Dulos committed suicide. In 2007, Jennifer Magnano was murdered by her husband, Scott Magnano, in Terryville, Connecticut. Scott Magnano committed suicide immediately after murdering his wife, Jennifer, in front of their three children. On June 28, 2021, Governor Ned Lamont signed the bill into law. |
