Small business mandate is now being delayed until after 2014 elections.

Wonder if the next delay will be the individual mandate????

Public approval of Obamacare hits an all time low. The American people are beginning to see what was in the law, and they don't like it.

Try again. Neither of your links support your claim. Moreover, the CATO guy will be proven wrong when Obama brags about the ACA rather than ignoring it. You guys are running out of black clouds.

It's just not possible for you to admit that this law is a miserable failure. Did you know, also that Moody's Investor Service downgraded the insurance sector from stable to negative today? Because of Obamacare.

It is not possible for me to admit that the ACA is a miserable failure because the ACA is not a miserable failure. If the ACA were a miserable failure, then I would admit it. But, since it's not, I can't. But turn things around, you appear to be incapable of acknowledging any success of the law.

For instance, outside the corridors of Fox News, you will find things like this:

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/obamacare-gallup-poll-uninsured

"The U.S. uninsured rate tumbled more than a percentage point from December 2013 to January 2014, according to a new Gallup poll, indicating that millions of Americans became covered at the same time that Obamacare coverage took full effect this month."

"As the Associated Press reported, the falling uninsured rate would correspond with two to three million people becoming insured."

"More than 6 million people have also been enrolled in Medicaid since October, and among those, people covered by the program's expansion under Obamacare would have had their coverage start on Jan. 1"

As this article demonstrates, there are millions of reasons that I am unable to describe the ACA as a miserable failure.

Perhaps because the law has reined in the rampant profit-taking that was the hallmark of insurance companies prior to the ACA?

Doesn't Obamacare forbid cancelling someone because they get sick? I thought that was one of the major contributors to medical-related bankruptcy - suddenly you are very sick, and dropped.

Not sure that uncertainty about insurance company profits is an indicator of failure. I'm more concerned about the patients.

The ACA apologists here seem unable to distinguish between "success" and "wishful thinking."

the sign ups are at 3.3 million, plus 4 million Medicaid and 7.8 million young adults who are on their parents plans thanks to the ACA. That's a lot of people with insurance.

Just to blow my own horn a bit. The NY Post link is to an article by a guy from CATO who starts out saying:

"No one expects President Obama to say much about ObamaCare in his State of the Union Address on Tuesday — because there isn’t much good to say about his signature achievement."

As I predicted, Obama spoke at length about ObamaCare, citing a woman in the audience who had been prevented from obtaining insurance due to a preexisting condition but was able to get insurance due to the ACA. Then, she had emergency surgery that would have bankrupted her had she not been insured. He also described how 9 million people have now signed up for a private insurance plan or expanded Medicaid. Then, he described Kentucky's experience which has been very positive.

So, the CATO guy was wrong, as was obvious at the time. But, people like the poster above will continue to rely on sources of that sort regardless of their track record.
