OMG. PP here…they sound horrible. Sorry and kudos for making the best of a bad situation. |
My dh doesn't come on spring break anymore. Only have one kid and we go visit family (who live in cool places) or take a grandparent. It's lovely. 😄 |
We are at our beach house and having a great spring break. I've honestly never had a really bad vacation, but of course with living overseas too for so long we know where to go to live like a local. |
Probably 90% of why our spring break hasn't been fun was just that we're visiting older relatives who aren't doing well (my mom, step-dad, MIL). My grandmother is still alive but with severe dementia that makes her confused and upset. Then there are the little things, like my step-dad s inability to carry on an actual conversation unless its about him and insisting on showing us things from Facebook at the dinner table, including a woman who somehow got stuck upside down with her chest flopped out of her tube top. |
Had a great time in Tulum Mexico. Stayed at a great all-inclusive resort that was nice and relaxing. |
Paris. Best vacation ever with a tween and a teen. Find a hotel/rental somewhere nice and just walk around, and eat. |
San Antonio was great! |
Climbing through a window? That was really funny. I saw them interviewed about it. |
Another cruiser here. It was our first cruise, and it was fantastic. Gorgeous weather. The ship wasn't sold out, which I'm told is rare for Disney, so we were able to get guaranteed room rates (about 25% off published). We were the only ship at the two port stops, Cozumel and Castaway Cay, so nothing was crowded. Kids had a great time in their respective clubs on board when they weren't doing other activities or pool. Not having to cook or clean was heaven (Disney services rooms twice a day!). |
m Also in London. Weather has been typically sucky- sunny for about five minutes then pouring rain then windy, and repeat. But loads to do and love walking around town. |
We booked late - after seeing pics from people at Christmas break - and hotels / resorts were out of the question. Everything looked like a dump from the 1980s for $900+ per night to get a suite. A vacation is not a vacation if I have to share a room with my kids. In February, we still had a dozen 2 bedroom condos to pick from between Key Largo and Marathon for $1200-$1600 for the week. Most condos, including the one we picked, seem to have a pool and amenities like grills and landscaped outdoors areas. If I did it again I would stay in Marathon or Islamorada to be more centrally located. |
In Dublin, cold and rainy. Some days with sun. Could be worse. Pubs, music, songs, Guinness, Irish stew, brown bread, Irish coffee, and fish and chips.
Spice bags, Malaysian, Italian, Turkish and Persian food. Did all the touristy sights. It was fun. |
+1 on Puerto Rico. The weather is great and you have your choice of beach days or activities. I can see us coming back. This is our first year going somewhere warm and it is glorious. |
Which one? |
We went to the Florida panhandle. We did have a day of rain and a day of wind, and did shopping/movies/board games those days. We’re from the Midwest so the cooler weather and water don’t bother us as much. I’d like the warmer weather that we’d probably find in the Tampa area, but the panhandle is easier for us logistically and I really love the soft sand and shallow water in the panhandle. Overall, we had a great relaxing week and enjoyed being out in the sun. |
