I think this needs to be repeated.

Social media as content is a different debate.

I have the right to watch any content I'd like. Honestly, I'd rather have the Chinese government have my data than the US government at this point.

Sure, you can watch whatever you want but that doesn’t mean the US government needs to sanction it. Just as US doest allow foreigners to own media (Murdoch needed to become US citizen), tiki tok needs to be divested from CCP. And no, your first amendment right is not being violated.

Metal bands weren't run by the CCP, moron.

They were run by recording industry d-bags. The CCP lifted the large numbers of people out of poverty in human history. What do recording industry d-bags have that’s remotely comparable to that?

Oh yeah, I remember my mother telling me Slayer is satanic because Def Jam released their cd. Are you a TikTok "influencer" by any chance?

Nah, I’m no Tiktoker, I’m just someone who feels compelled to rattle the cages of DCUM’s senile boomers!

Stupid poll.
The question to ask is do you support regulation for Tik Tok

Nearly all videos available on TikTok are also on Instagram or Facebook reels. So what's the difference?

It only works on phones. The two phone stores would block the app as malware. Done.

It is pretty frightening, actually.

Terrifying. It is really unconscionable that we have given a hostile foreign power this much access to our children's hearts and minds.

It is propo and mind altering subliminal straight out of cheesy sci fi! I wish I was just paranoid.

Good point about Chinese Communist control in Hollywood.
