Tough call voting for any of the candidates. Zimmerman because she is a teacher? |
Zimmerman, Montoya, Stewart
|
as above, that's the Apple. |
No. Saying forget the fact that the apple ballot in prior years recommended all the people we’re now complaining about and trust the apple ballot this time because it’s so good at picking good candidates like Laura Stewart. You can be great at picking great candidates but stink at picking great BOE members at the same time. |
Lynne Harris has never gotten the Apple Ballot endorsement. Shebra Evans and Rebecca Smondrowski did not get it the last time they ran, but they did the first time they ran. |
Just got my ballot in the mail today. Did not vote for any incumbents or any Apple ballot. |
as usual the Apple ballot makes the best picks |
Sorry, agree with PP. If Apple made the best picks we'd have a better board. |
+1 no need to disrupt the status quo. Just vote the apple ballot and continue their success of picking the best |
I wonder why the MCEA doesn't like Lynne. She seems to check a lot of their typical boxes, and she was a former educator herself, no? |
+3 🍎 apple |
The MCEA tends to favor "status quo" candidates who are not going to rock the boat too much, which is why you see them endorsing lightweights like Laura Stewart in this cycle. The easier the pushover, the more they can get the BOE to do their bidding. |
+4 - the apple ballot picks from last election - Julie Yang and Grace Rivera Oven - have been rock stars in making this one of the best BOEs we've had in decades, so I'm going to keep it up and vote Apple straight up and down to make sure we continue this streak of success |
I can say Julie and Grace are the better of the bunch of the board members we have currently. They don't fawn all over MCPS staff and take everything they say as the gospel. |
Best board in decades? How do you feel the BOE handled the Beidelman scandal and the $1+ million paid out to McKnight to not sue MCPS? |
