These schools are in trouble. The kids are playing with fire.

Some students have difficulty dealing with the core required courses.

Exactly. The safety issue is blown out of proportion.

Anyway, let's assume that the safety concerns are true. Do you really want to give up your kids' hard-earned admittance to a great university because some protestors are causing problems? I'd say no. Don't retreat and don't hide.

Honestly, I’d rather my kid go somewhere less chaotic. Life is hard enough without running towards a pile of crap.

But, you were never considering Columbia, you are just here to advance your agenda, so the point is moot.

+1. People are paying $70K a year for their kids to be taking classes online?

I think the COA is closer to $90K. it is ridiculous that they can't keep their students safe.

Seriously! I can’t believe they are unleashing police officers on peaceful student protestors.

That’s what they said during the Vietnam war student protests.

Columbia is not removing the non student protesters. It is private property - there is no reason to allow it.

Let them go protest on public property.

I would not send my child there after there statement to Jewish students essentially telling them they would not keep them safe and suggested they “go home”. 😢

You are factually incorrect. The non-student protesters are not on the Columbia campus. They are right outside the campus boundary on a public street. There is nothing that Columbia can do about them.

Yep, actual Columbia students are on the record describing a different picture of how things actually are on campus right now.

A rabbi told a small group of Orthodox Jews ...it was not an official school announcement to all Jewish students.

Even 9 kids at U of ‘Minnesota got arrested for protesting today

This is everywhere - not just Columbia

OP's kid is not going. I think she wanted to start a thread re: Columbia that didn't have to go under the Political Thread. And here we are.

This.
Indoctrinated rot that begins with promoting a hatred of one’s own country.
