Microwave - plate gets hot, not the food

Call the manufacturer for service or replacement.

My pyrex measuring up never gets hot, but it is clear glass. I have some white glass (slightly translucent) pyrex bowls, old ones, I use a lot, no problem.

One of the things to understand is how microwaves work. You are literally cooking with radio frequency energy. The cookware you use must be non polarized. It won’t absorb RF and won’t heat up. Polarized cookware will absorb RF and will get very hot. Sometimes there is no way to tell until you test it. If it’s labeled microwave safe then it obviously is. If not then you take your chances.
