Am I too old for this length shorts?

I think these J Crew shorts are really cute:

I'd probably pair it with a T-shirt and some gold roman sandals or grey chuck taylors.

I'm short (5'1") and fit. But I am 35. Am I too old to be wearing shorts this short? Honest opinions please!

Cute! Although these would be too short for me (I am more modest by nature and probably not as fit as you are!), I say "go for it." In my opinion, if you are slender and fit in your 30s you can get away with most of what you would have worn in your 20s. (When you hit your 40s, though, no matter how thin and fit, I think you have to be more careful.) Just one opinion, from someone who is no fashionista.

You might want to look in the mirror at the backs of your thighs. No matter how slender, a lot of ladies tend to get cellulite - the bumpy, cottage cheese looking stuff. It does not have anything to do with weight. Needless to say, I wear my shorts on the long side. If you don't have it, go for it!

General rule: If you are asking the question, you probably are.

With all the issues in the world, this seems soooo trivial.

I don't think this needs to be compared to the world's problems, which OP and respondents are not trivializing. There's a place for everything, and this forum is the place for questions like this!

If you have the bod, where them. Age is just a number. They are cute and tasteful. Nothing inappropriate here.

I'd wear 'em.

I'm in my 40s and sure would wear them. I was expecting to see a pair of little, white daisy dukes.

Agreed, and don't forget varicose veins (my issue). If you are good to go, then no 35 is not too old.

They are nice shorts for the appropriate situation. The outfit with the button down shirt is good for someone in their thirties who is fit. Perhaps a rule of thumb should be if you can wear an 8 or less with room to eat then it's OK. Any larger and you should wear longer shorts. No wife beater or cammie unless you are at/on a beach and then wear the shirt open over it.
