What's with all the "Executive" threads?

We've got

- "What does your Executive eat?" http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/490503.page
- "Hubby becoming Executive and DW transitioning to SAH" http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/490275.page
- "How does your Executive Hubby contribute to the household outside of $$$?" http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/489993.page
- "Executive homes" http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/490395.page

I'm waiting for the threads on "Has your Executive hubby told you what the Executive washroom is like?" and "Which country club should hubby join now that he's an Executive?"

Is someone from the 1950s managing to post on DCUM?

(Note, I posted this before the OP of the Executive meals thread revealed herself to be mocking the trend, as well)

Probably all from the SAHMs who have a LinkedIn profile that has Philanthropist as title.

Probably the same person who has flooded the Politics forum with "Why do..." questions. All of this feels like troll work.

Jeb done got promoted it sounds like.

I imagine she refers to her husband as "the Executive" in regular conversation.

"Sorry Betty, I've got to head home, the Execuvite will be home in 20 minutes."

The transition to Executive does not just affect the husband, it is a major change for the whole family. For people who don't have a network already that is at that level, DCUM provides an invaluable resource on housing, food, and other options.

The irony lost on you is that your conversation stopping comment is more of a troll device than the OP. That comment is open ended and least has the potential for an interesting conversation.

All promotions have downward affects; it's the "executive" part that is grating.

I would be stunned if the Op of those posts is for real, though. "What does your Executive eat?" Really? It sounds sarcastic.

That is a good observation. Even though such a promotion is a generally good thing, it brings a lot of abrupt change and can be difficult for all, especially young children.

Let me guess: you are not an Executive?
Well, my Hubby is, and I can tell you from experience that the Transition was a difficult one in many ways. Though we are very blessed in our new situation, it did involve new friends, a new house, new foods, and a new and enriched Etiquette. Anonymous fora can be a Godsend in this regard.

I am executive (seriously) - but I am down to earth, and I would shun you for your shallow behavior.
