cost of daycare for a 2 year old

1133 at a federal agency-affiliated center in the suburbs. I know it to the penny because this week was our first payment of 2s tuition (instead of 1500 in the toddler class).

Our daycare (FBC CDC in Dupont) is $1375 for 2 year olds. It goes down a little when the kids turn 3. They will prob. raise it again this year. Meals are not included.

Ours (TPCDC in Takoma Park, MD) is $1325/mo. for 2 yo's. That's for FT care.

I'm in Alexandria (Fairfax Co section) and this is what we pay for an excellent in-home provider.
what are the hours ??

I am in Fairfax county part of Alexandria and I charge $225 for a 2 yo. whether they are potty trained or not. I provide all meals with that rate and any activity fees.

I own a home daycare in silver spring and charge $288 for a 2 yr old. We offer food w/that. It depends on the location and quality of the center, it should range from $200-350.

180 for infants
160 for 1 year old
120-140 2 year old
110 3 year old

Wait, FL meaning Florida? With all due respect, that's a completely unhelpful and meaningless response to a question about daycare in downtown DC.

Actually, I think this helps to put things into perspective. I think what day care providers charge in this area is outrageous! The kids in FL probably get the same quality care, but the difference is it's much more affordable. My husband and I are very fortunate that we can afford for our DD's daycare here in Bethesda. But I wonder about parents who can't afford these crazy prices.

Maybe on a preschool level, but schools and education in FL are horrible.

About $1600/month for a two year old. But out ratios are the same for the twos as the infants, 1:3, so only slightly less expensive.

IRS Child Development Center in New Carrollton charges $1495/month for 6 weeks-2 years. $1182/month for 2 years-3 years and $1128 for 3 years+. Since they are in MD, they go by the MD rule that ratios are 1:3 for up to 2 years and 1:8 for 2+ years

Not every parent can afford the luxury of outsourcing their babysitting duties.
Funny how cheap kid care (aka "affordable") has become a parental "right".

If you can't pay a sitter or daycare worker living wages, do your own little daycare, and let people pay you.

$2300 per month for montessori accredited care. Crazy expensive but worth it I think

As you know realestate in FL is much cheaper then here. Many daycares and centers even with the tuition hey charge going out of business.
