You may nit pick, because you are a nit wit. It was a reference to the name of the SPORTS teams. See bold above. Perhaps if I had clarified he was a Fighting Quaker (pun intended, it was a joke at Sidwell, not sure about Penn) it would have been clearer. |
PPs, clearly you both could have benefited attending a Quaker school. |
There has been a very strong Landon/Princeton connection over the years including Landon's iconic coach Bordley. I'm not from a Landon family, but anyone who's been around this area knows that connection. |
PP is right about the Princeton/Landon connection. There are Princeton men throughout the school (including the current headmaster) and its alum. The school was founded by a Princeton alum.
Those who are younger may not be aware that Princeton was all male until 1969 and had more of an emphasis on athletics as part of the development of a young man than you see today. |
For you younger folks not alive in 1746, you may not be aware that Princeton was founded during the Great Awakening and had more of an emphasis on the development of a young man as a minister than you see today. |
LOL! |
The Quaker is a reference to the mascots, not religion -Sidwell/Penn grad |
Most local private schools are led by Ivy grads:
The head of STA is a graduate of Yale University The head of Landon is a graduate of Princeton The head of Sidwell is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania The head of GDS is a graduate of Yale University The head of Holton is a graduate of Princeton The head of Maret is a graduate of Williams Not sure about others |
Williams is not ivy league, but I suppose I understand your point, even if our examples are incorrect. |
Head of Sidwell went to Earlham (Quaker school). |
Love the Maret/Williams comparison. I'd completely agree with that. |
A clear opening here, for someone to hire a Harvard grad. |
Master's from Penn. |
LOL! Thread over. |
There is a strong Princeton connection to all theses schools. In addition, I'm sure StA and NCS send more kids to Princeton than Landon. |
