IMHO Sidwell is more like the Penn of Washington’s private schools

STA is the Harvard of Washington’s private schools
Gonzaga is the Notre Dame of Washington’s private schools
Prep is the Georgetown (duh) of Washington’s private schools
Landon is the Princeton of Washington’s private schools
GDS is the MIT of Washington’s private schools

I read the "Penn" thing as an anti-Semitic reference.

Creative and imaginative indeed.

In some place where nobody can miss it, add "Landon is often described as the Harvard of DC." Scroll down to the bottom and click Save Page. Wasn't that fun?

Can someone explain to me the "Landon's Varsity Lacrosse Team, ... won national championships in 1999, 2001, and 2002"

There is a High School Lacrosse National Championship game?

No, but there are HS polls such as LaxPower's, Under Armour's, etc. that follow the top HS teams in the country (as there are pools for other sports). These sports can crown a mythical "national champion". Landon's claim to a national title in those years is fine - their teams those years were ridiculous.

STA & Holton = Harvard
Sidwell = Stanford
NCS=Yale
GDS = MIT
Landon = Princeton
Potomac = Duke
Prep & Viz = Georgetown
Maret = Williams
Bullis = UVA

Are you maybe thinking of Bennington College?

I actually think this thread, IF you understand it is all tongue-in-cheek good fun, is pretty entertaining. Nothing serious, just silly but hilarious opinions. Great way to waste a bit of time.

This must be why the Clintons and the Obamas chose Sidwell.

GDS is now where near cool enough to be Brown.

Location in DC and ability to secure the campus were major concerns. Back in the day when traffic and security were not such concerns, no President would have considered Sidwell unless (as with Nixon) they were Quaker.

National Championship "games" are comparatively new even in college football. Most college football "National Champions" were crowned based on polls - sportswriter and coaches. That's basically the same process used to determine the high school LAX national champion.

I'm not OP, but I went to Penn and I don't see why you think the comparison would be anti-Semitic.

Probably a benign Quaker reference. Both schools sports teams are even called the Quakers. My brother went from
Sidwell to Penn so was a Quaker for 18 years.

The Landon-Princeton comparison breaks down. Princeton is not exactlyt known for graduating LAX sexual predators.

Not to nit pick, but students aren't Quakers just because they attend a Quaker school. The schools are just like any other religious school.

If you want to see anti-semitism under every innocuous rock and stone, I guess we can't stop you.
