One thing is certain, anyone who thinks HYP are fungible hasn't spent much time around H,Y or P. |
I'm surprised that the sentence "But Sidwell has long been described by some as the Harvard of Washington’s private schools. " made it past the NY Times editors - who are the "some?" |
"pigeon rodeo". That's good. I'm going to use that one day. |
Just for fun, go onto any Wikipedia page. Let's say, the page for "Landon School." At the top there are tabs for Read, Edit and View History. Click on Edit. In some place where nobody can miss it, add "Landon is often described as the Harvard of DC." Scroll down to the bottom and click Save Page. Wasn't that fun?
*Disclaimer. I actually want to discourage you from messing with any Wikipedia page like this. But you see how easy it is. |
12:53 again. I too want to use "pigeon rodeo" somewhere. |
OP has way too much time on her hands. |
Actually, I'm betting that OP is a rising 10th-grade boy. |
Can someone explain to me the "Landon's Varsity Lacrosse Team, ... won national championships in 1999, 2001, and 2002" There is a High School Lacrosse National Championship game? |
Bullis is becoming the Stanford of DC private schools. They may not get there, but they are trying to build a combination of excellence in academics and athletics. |
I like Bullis, but this is ridiculous. Bullis is trying to become the Wisconsin of DC private schools: solid academics and strong athletics in a few sports, plus great parties and a useful alumni network. |
You ladies are the embarrassment of your families. |
This thread is stupid but fun. Edmund Burke=Burlington College. |
I wouldn't bet against this. |
With a mere, piddly $30 million endowment vs $30 billion for Harvard. Even little Groton school has a $300 million endowment.
Washington, D.C. is in big trouble if Sidwell is the Harvard of Washington private schools. There must be a boat load of shitty private schools in Washington, D.C. |
No, but there is a local and provincial lacrosse area championship for the non athlete or football cast off. |
