What do you call your MIL?

We both use first names for the other's parents. Or sometimes we use the grandparent-term I'd the kid is around.

I call her by her first name. Always have, always will. The thought of calling anyone besides my own mom “mom” just weirds me out. Not for me!

Her first name or Grandma when the kids are around.

For 15 years I called her by her first name but now I call her "mom." My husband still calls my parents by their first names.

My mother-in-law told me on my wedding day she'd always wanted a daughter & was thrilled to finally have one. I feel bad that it took me so long to call her mom.

I have never gotten this "call your MIL 'Mom' " thing. If your spouse is their child and you are their 'child', then it seems incestuous to be sleeping with someone who has the same mom as you, KWIM? I've always found this weird.

When I have to address my MIL, I call her by her name. Its awkward, yes, but she's French and apparently they don't even switch from vous to tu with in-laws, so thankfully she wouldn't ever have raised that 'call me mom' business.

I call her what my husband calls her, its one of few ways of saying mom in our language but its different from what i call my own mom

First name, for her and FIL. My DH calls my parents by their first names as well. No one ever asked to be called anything other than that, though.

I call her RIP, thank you God.

No problem calling her "Mom" (and FIL "Dad"), though DH calls my parents by their first names. May also call her "Grammy" in context of DS.

To her FACE? Her first name?

Behind her BACK? Not saying.

Her first name, grandma and mom. Just depends on the situation/context and my mood. My MIL is more of a mom to me than my own mom, so I don't have the MIL hate that so many others do.

You've got some hang-ups if you're thinking like this.

I call my MIL "Mom" because she's a mom to me, and she loves me like her daughter.
