BOB WOODWARD: Obama Is Showing 'A Kind Of Madness I Haven't Seen In A Long Time'

Anonymous
So you agree that its okay to threaten to revoke someone's press pass if they don't agree to spew whatever story the WH wants to tell instead of the truth and tow the party line?

What happend to Obama's B.S. pledge for transparency?

I believe he is a diehard liberal/democrat. Just disgusting that this White House feels they can get away with this kind of press bullying and intimidation. They always attack the messenger who is just trying to tell the truth. Typical thug behavior.

Here is the actual threat:

"But I do truly believe you should rethink your comment about saying saying that Potus asking for revenues is moving the goal post. I know you may not believe this, but as a friend, I think you will regret staking out that claim."

To which Woodward replied:

"Gene: You do not ever have to apologize to me. You get wound up because you are making your points and you believe them. This is all part of a serious discussion. I for one welcome a little heat; there should more given the importance. I also welcome your personal advice. I am listening. I know you lived all this. "

Doesn't sound like it was meant as a threat or received that way.

But I know you guys won't let the facts stand in the way of some good old fashioned manufactured outrage.

Of course Woodward welcomes the heat. The tale of this controversy will probably be his next book, and all this is advance publicity.

who comes up with a really bad idea with the intention of it nevery going into effect, but actually passes it into law? This is a crazy idea (Obama's) and dumb that it hasn't been repealed (Obama's and Congress's fault). That Obama continues to demonstrate a lack of leadership is not anyone's fault but our own. He has zero leadership skills. Zero. Instead of getting to work on a solution, he's out stumping again. For goodness sake, do some real work, please!!

From someone who knows one of the characters involved, this is fairly hilarious. I mean, really. Makes me completely rethink Woodward and Deep Throat.

What do you expect Obama to do? He has a plan to avert the sequester:

The House refuses to act on anything. The Senate will vote on two different plans today. Obama is out trying to rally public support for his plan. That is a perfectly valid strategy and is, contrary to what yo seem to believe, real work. Perhaps you prefer that politics is conducted in smoke-filled rooms. Obama wants the public to get involved. I prefer Obama's methods.

Appears that Woodward is showing the madness, being pushed around by the "diminutive, nerdy" Sperling.

Senate voted down Republican plan. Did not vote on Democratic plan because the CBO said it would ADD to the deficit.
Congress is closed for the weekend.
