It sounds like a yeast infection. You've stated that you've been on antibiotics (z-pack) for a month. Base on how long you've been on antibiotics, you can kill off a lot of you good bacteria along with the bad. In the vaginal area, there are good bacteria that balance out with the yeast. When most of the bacteria are killed off, the yeast gets out of control this causing s yeast infection. I'd suggest you go to a doctor to get a full assessment to make that's all it Is. It's usually very treatable. |
Having the same issue. Had my Dr. Call me in a script and using baby power to sooth the burn... Feels like someone took a Brillo pad to my vulva.... Heat, sweat, chaffing and antibiotics caught me red handed... And it's like death! |
Can I ask a question b/c I'm having the same symptoms and am also on topamax... Maybe a side effect of the medication? |
Listed as a rare side effect of Topomax:

That's going to cause so much more burning... I'd head to the doctors and leave with at least two Diflucan's. |
Biggest list of side effects I've ever seen.. |
Try OTC medicine. If it doesn't work, see a doctor. Also eat yogurt. |
I had this recently too. I've never had a yeast infection, but I only ever heard that that was itchy, with plenty of vag itch, discharge or odour.
I had none of that, just burning vulva pain, then suddenly one side of my vulva looked like a swollen hamburger. It was actually so painful I did not go see the ob/gyn because I wanted no one near that part of my body. The whole thing lasted about a week. I had been on an antibiotic two weeks previously for strep throat. So I self treated with otc stuff and will soon see the gyn just to be sure everything's normal. Never had that before and never want that again. |
OP, here's my advice. And I have had some really raw and burning vulva! First, Take the year infection cream and put it in either the fridge or the freezer. You want it really, really cold. Then, insert it into your vagina. Stay on your back! Do not get up for about 30 minutes. It's the melting of it in your vagina and running out onto your inflamed vulva that is causing the pain. Then, while you are lying on your back, take plain, whole milk greek style yogurt (it's thicker and "stays put" better) and smear it all over your outer bits. Bring your knees to your chest and let it sooth it for a while. Keep reapplying as the cream inside starts to melt. I once had a string of infections so bad I actually screamed during the treatment. I'd rather give birth again. The steps above was the only thing that helped. Good luck! |
Get a script for Diflucan (it is a pill and is not used vaginally). I ask for it for anytime I'm prescribed AB's (although I try to use them as infrequently as possible). It will clear up a yeast infection in a day or two. |
When I get a YI, that's what it feels like. I don't usually get much discharge but the skin gets itchy and irritated, sometimes it gets scary swollen down there. (I've been to the doctor with these symptoms and confirmed it was a yeast infection). I ALWAYS get one when I have antibiotics. Don't suffer anymore. It's easy to take care of! |
Definetly what a yeast infection feels like after antibiotics. You can use over the counter, but a doctor may dive you an oral medication that is more effective. |
Today when I wiped myself i notice it stung kind and I don’t know what it is |
Get an OTC treatment and a divorce. |
You can have a yeast infection under the skin as well -- which will lead to symptoms like you're having and might not result in the same vaginal discharge. I definitely get raw when I get one. |
