What Does A Yeast Infection Feel Like (explicit)

I would get a culture done ASAP...don't treat this on your own because you need to know exactly what it is so you can treat it properly. If you don't have a yeast infection, Monistat can actually irritate your skin further.
You really need to find out exact what this is - there are other vaginal infections besides yeast.

OB, and shame on your DH for his insensitive comment.

Tea tree oil cleared up a major yeast infection I had when all sorts of prescription topical and oral medicines didn't. You can get tea tree pessaries (I think that is what suppositories for the vaginal area are called) at Whole Foods or health food stores. They are a little stingy, but at least in my case cleared the problem up (follow the directions - you insert them each night for a number of nights). Tea tree oil has a medicinal odor - so you are not going to use them during the day. The pessary will melt inside of you so some of the stuff will reach the outer lips as well as the inside infection. Put the pessaries in the freezer prior to using - then you can insert them more easily.

I thnk everyone is being a bit dramatic. If you don't have insurance right now go ahead and do the Monistat 7 day course. If it's not all gone then fork out the cash for an appointment. As long as you don't have a fever of course.....if you develop flu like symptoms or fever get yourself to the doctor asap.

It's easy to insist someone rush to the doctor when you have a $10 copay. It's a different ballgame when you have to pay $200 out of pocket for a yeast infection.

True, PP...but Monistat itself can burn like he'll and make things worse if it's not yeast.

Well, if that happens then wash it off and go to the doctor.

I think he thought we was being funny. I didn't take him seriously, his 16 year old self was shining through...

Is there any over the counter yeast treatment anyone can recommend? My dr cannot see my until Tuesday! I'm so angry. I tried to get in yesterday, they told me to call today. The nurse just called back and wont fit me in, wont call in a script. It's insane.

I have to run to Target and get something but I have no idea where to even start. Any suggestions?

What at A-hole expecting you to wait 4 days for yeast infection treatment. You should leave that practice and tell him why!

You should just do the 7 day monistat OTC from CVS. The 1 and 3 days options may not work.

I think several people have made suggestions in this thread. Please go back and re read it.

Good luck, OP. Hope you get some relief with the OTC stuff.

Thanks! I did do that. It never hurts to ask for more, does it?

And actually no, no one made any suggestions by name. Thank you for telling me to re-read the thread. Perhaps YOU should have read it yourself prior to making your "PLEASE RE READ IT COMMENT".

Thanks to the poster who did make the seven day treatment suggestion, I picked it up. Thank you so much.

I don't do garlic pills, I actually chop up garlic, let it get exposed to the air for a bit and then swallow the pieces like pills. For comfort in that area, I put PLAIN yogurt on it. PLAIN...not vanilla, nothing with sugar but plain yogurt helps soothe it. And you should always take probiotics when you are taking an antibiotic but they are good to take regularly anyway.

That is what I do. You should do what you feel comfortable with. Good luck.

Do a week long course of monistat and put some of the cream on the outside too twice a day. That should clear it up. YOu should do the internal one along with externally because there is bound to be a bit in there.

In the meantime (like right now!), you can buy a tube of anti-itch cream for your ladyregion in the same part of CVS as the yeast infection treatments.

Anyway, until I can actually talk to someone to get an appointment, I've started to use Tea tree oil - wet a cotton ball with water, and a little tea tree oil, and dab it to the affected area. You can get tea tree oil at CVS.

You're quoting vinegar, garlic, tea tree oil, and monistat? Do you know how many different varieties of monistat there are?

Anti-itch cream when I said I have burning, not itching? And was told NOT to use itch cream?

Really?

My question was WHAT NAME BRAND TO USE. Not what household cleaning product or vegetable to try. I saw those. I also saw NOT to try vinegar because the outside rawness of my vulva may not be able to handle it.

I was going to Target, I'm not sure Target carries tea tree oil, but I was looking for a vaginal yeast cream.

I understand the point you are trying to make, but can you see my confusion with your response. I wasn't looking for what you are pointing out. I was looking for a specific brand suggestion for a yeast treatment product, not a homeopathic remedy, sorry for the misunderstanding.

And my redness is on the outside, not the inside - so I am not looking for suppositories to insert into my vagina. I need relief for my RED, RAW, BURNING VULVA OF WHICH HAS NOW ENTER THE 9th circle of hell and is officially on fire.
