Like, the train from Burke is scheduled to take almost an hour to Union station, just the train! No getting to the train, no delays, no walking to the office. |
You aren't even here yet and you are policing what people can and can't say about how their week went?
Good luck, lol. |
I'm in Falls Church as well. No "down to earth and kind" people on this block. If OP doesn't want to hear people bragging, stay away from here. |
This. |
Yep. But OP needs to let go of that requirement, anyway, given the rest of what they seem to want. |

This is the answer. Playgrounds, parades, swim clubs, see everyone you know in Safeway, easy trip into DC. |
OP - what's your budget? There are great places you'll love if you can do $2m+ |
(OP here) Thanks everyone, this was super helpful and I really appreciate you all sharing your honest thoughts. I was happy to see a couple neighborhoods pop up we were thinking about but also have some new ideas to explore too, so a big thanks to all of you! |
(OP) And also this was really reassuring that this is something I don't have to lose with our move. I love the DMV in so many ways, but this kind of community was not something I saw too much of when we lived there before, so I was worried it might not exist. So thank you for that reassurance too! |
22043 gives you access to FCC without the obnoxious neighbors. The best of both worlds. |
Another vote for Manor Woods. We have 400K HHI and could live somewhere more "desirable" per DCUM standards, but chose to live here for all the aforementioned reasons. |
Oakton Glen, Lakeville states in 22181 |
Glover Park in NW DC |
Burke and Kings Park West although it may be a bit far. We absolutely loved these communities |
