Like, the train from Burke is scheduled to take almost an hour to Union station, just the train! No getting to the train, no delays, no walking to the office.

You aren't even here yet and you are policing what people can and can't say about how their week went?

Good luck, lol.

I'm in Falls Church as well. No "down to earth and kind" people on this block. If OP doesn't want to hear people bragging, stay away from here.

Yep.

But OP needs to let go of that requirement, anyway, given the rest of what they seem to want.

This is the answer. Playgrounds, parades, swim clubs, see everyone you know in Safeway, easy trip into DC.

OP - what's your budget? There are great places you'll love if you can do $2m+

(OP here) Thanks everyone, this was super helpful and I really appreciate you all sharing your honest thoughts. I was happy to see a couple neighborhoods pop up we were thinking about but also have some new ideas to explore too, so a big thanks to all of you!

(OP) And also this was really reassuring that this is something I don't have to lose with our move. I love the DMV in so many ways, but this kind of community was not something I saw too much of when we lived there before, so I was worried it might not exist. So thank you for that reassurance too!

22043 gives you access to FCC without the obnoxious neighbors. The best of both worlds.

Another vote for Manor Woods. We have 400K HHI and could live somewhere more "desirable" per DCUM standards, but chose to live here for all the aforementioned reasons.

Burke and Kings Park West although it may be a bit far. We absolutely loved these communities
