But how long does that take door to door?

A lot of people have mentioned Burke (and I agree) but West Springfield should also be mentioned. They're basically the same except West Springfield is up to 20 minutes closer to DC than some parts of Burke

+1 Burke is a large area so the western side of it will add minutes. West Springfield is bordering the eastern edge of Burke. It's amazing the difference that several stop lights makes.

Anonymous wrote:Burke! I live in Burke station square, across the street from the vre station that runs straight to union station. Kids are overscheduled like everyone in the DC metro, but on any given weeknight there are kids riding bikes around, playing driveway basketball, or knocking on each others’ doors. I love my neighborhood.

I was going to suggest Burke as well.

Yes, if I were going to raise kids anywhere in DMV again, I would choose Burke.

Love the sarcasm!!!

Yep.

But OP needs to let go of that requirement, anyway, given the rest of what they seem to want.

Nope. Kensington and Garrett Park Estates are 20-30 minutes from Union Station via MARC and are zoned for a 9 GS HS.
