MYS' green teams will play ECRL. For the older age groups, they will only have green and white (NCSL) teams now that they no longer have teams in ECNL.

Maybe in missing something, but MYS will still have an ECNL team just like they did the last two years. Or are you referring to before the Union partnership?

No, MYS' current ECNL teams (ECNL = the national league) are currently called VA Union. VA Union teams will cease to exist after this season.

MYS has joined with BRYC and VYS for the ECNL program/teams only. The charter will be under the new club (a for-profit business) called Fairfax VA Union.

MYS will continue to have ECRL teams (ECRL = the regional league operated by ECNL).

My point is that MYS didn’t have it’s own team with only MYS players this year. Next year won’t be any different in that regard. Yes, I know VA Union is different than Fairfax VA Union but MYS will still have players in ECNL just like this year.

Virginia Union were MYS teams. They were under MYS’s management, budget and supervision of MYS Board.

FVU is an independent club. It has its own management, budget and a separate Board.

It’s completely different. This has been explained in this thread multiple times.

Not sure about younger but the U-18 team and U-17 team will be strong. The rest maybe not so much based on how they handled tryouts.

Dumb MYS didn't even try to recruit the players without slots to the RL team...so those players are leaving the club all together for ECNL or RL teams at other clubs. Club is a mess.

Same thing on the girls' side. They made no effort to keep the longtime MYS/Union girls who didn't make FVU. Just let them leave.

Wouldn't girls who didn't make FVU just join MYS ECNLR teams?

Isn't poo flinging the national sport of Finland? It's called Kakka Heittelee.

I hear it's even hotter than Pickleball over there.

Depends on where they live, they might leave for another ECNL club or GA club

Nope. ECNL tryouts were/are a 3 or 4 weeks later. MYS did no outreach to those girls, so they immediately went elsewhere for GA tryouts. I know a few ended up at FCV. I know that GA is more desirable for college recruiting than RL, but MYS didn't even try. And these are McLean girls. Came up through MYS, live in McLean, and played MYS ECNL and VA Union. And MYS didn't make a single effort to keep them in the program. It's organizational malpractice and speaks to a complete lack of GAF by MYS.

So dumb to lose your backyard for the sake of a boys program that would be better defunct. Do a girls only MYS program and it would run itself

Sounds like most of these girls were leaving anyways for better opportunities? They probably assumed the girls that wanted to stay would be going to RL tryouts and were looking to offer some of them a week earlier than others. I know some kids got dual roster offers for FVU so those are the ones they probably identified earlier on. Not giving them excuses but they had a lot on their plates and knew some attrition was inevitable. Crappy process all around for everyone and hope your next year is a good one.

Just how bad will Mclean's ECNL-RL teams be next year?

They should actually be better than this current year as there are a lot of girls looking for new homes.

All regional teams will be better after all settles.
