The ECNL is not forcing Union to merge, they are telling BRAVE they will not be able to compete in ECNL in years to come unless they get stronger. They’ll lose their ECNL charter otherwise; in steps Union recognizing this and boom, merger.

May not be confirmed yet but it is out there and happening.

And yes the talent is far too diluted but there is also a lot of talent!

ECNL is telling Union and brave boys that they need to do this. Nothing to do with the girls.

ECNL is telling Union and brave boys that they need to do this. Nothing to do with the girls.

Not how it works buddy. Both boys and girls would have to partner.

If the soccer ecosystem was this organized like a corporate takeover you are describing sure, but soccer is far from that organized or planned out as you are suggesting this current ECNL takeover to be. GA is fine, you will see

Also note that the ECNL is aggressively expanding by adding some of GAs best clubs! If this trend continues, GA will not be fine, you will see.

I heard this rumor as well last night. I asked one of our directors and he didnt deny it.

Consolidation is a good thing. There are too many ECNL clubs in northern Virginia. There are girls on my DD’s ECNL team who will never be good enough to play college soccer (D1, 2, or 3) no matter how much coaching or development they get. ECNL is a college soccer pathway - to stay that way there needs to be consolidation in Nova.

They will train in Mclean and Great Falls since NM is the TD at Great falls. Everyone knows Mclean does everything to make his life easier so he can handle all his responsibilities (Mclean/Union, Great falls, Total Futbol).
