ECNL forcing Brave & Union Partnership

Is McLean playing ECNL R? I thought I heard they were not playing ECNL R for some reason.

MYS' green teams will play ECRL. For the older age groups, they will only have green and white (NCSL) teams now that they no longer have teams in ECNL.

Page 267 was way more interesting than page 268 has started.

Hahaha

Here’s another one. Are we there yet?

The bottom line. ECNL is pay to play and if you go the big pay way, even better.

So it looks like the 2009 boys will suck just as much next year as they were this year. Bottom feeders, I was hoping for better talent to be added, but it looks like the handful of kids they added are worse than the ones there before—time to get my money back and look for something else. If all us parents see it, how is this guy Tyler so blind? Keep no one and build from new..and if you add outsiders can we please get some real talent.

If you are reading this FXU coaches, having tryouts into mid April means you done a crap job of recruiting.

NVA isnt much better.. best 3 players left after new coach botched tryouts and offers.. as soon as they learned who he added they got pissed and left. Then 2 of outside club players backed out. Coach added no attacking players and kept weakest player. With the of the 2 best attacking players gone I suspect they will be right at the bottom with FVU.

You don’t actually seem like a guy whose kid got an offer.
My guess is if he did no one would mind if you and your son moved along. Last things anyone wants or needs.
If your kid is still going to tryouts and they don’t have an offer it’s probably time to move on. They have been giving offers since after the first ID session, those tryouts are looking for the last kid or two. With high school and the madness of this tryout season it makes sense to take a look at some kids who are registering new.
No one knows the makeup of that team except the coaches currently.
So nice try, hope you feel better and you’re taking your anger out on a forum instead of your kid.

Will the boys talk get us to 300? Survey says NAH!

What boys are sticking around to play for McLean? I heard most of the top McLean players on the boys side were heading to Arlington or other clubs, even at the youngest age groups.

That is typically MYS by the way. Not surprised

Tyler (and his dad) are legacy BRYC coaches so I don't think this can be blamed on MYS

I've seen kids getting moved from RL to NL and after a season, able to snatch the starter spot but often than not, those kids who get moved up need time to adjust to the speed of play in the NL competition. Depend on the team/ club, speed of play between NL and RL could be significant.

I'm pretty sure and willing to bet the farm the speed of play between RL and NL isn't much different

Hate to break it to you, but you just lost the family farm.

+1.

Players can play faster (if that is the system) and decision-making is MUCH faster in NL. Are there kids that can run just as fast in RL? Sure. But they can't think, pass, and handle the ball as fast.

I'm willing to bet the other farm none of this can be verified by data or objective expert witness

Data? ECNL has something like +70% of D1 player commits in the past graduating class. GA had like 20%, next was overseas players, THEN RL and USYS. That is pretty much all the data you need.

Here is an article from 3 years ago about the players in the College Cup. ECNL has only expanded since the while also grabbing GA Clubs. I would say unless you have a top 2% all RL players nationwide, chances for a roster spot at a quality academic D1 school is very very slim.

A lot went to try outs but not a lot made it. As you’ll remember from 200 pages ago many of the McLean parents didn’t realize they weren’t lighting up ECNL. So many came back around.
It seems like every age group is different…the ‘08s where McLean was dominant came over as a group, that team should remain strong.
Other teams are a mix. I know the tryouts were huge at first and new kids kept coming as they made cuts.
I believe most teams will be stronger for the merger and the interest.
Top of the bracket stronger no but better.
As you can see from above lots of bitter parents means lots of cuts
