Yeah they suck lost semifinal 4-3 on penalities to the eventual champ. The other 3 teams were all from Cali clearly they underachieved they should have done better... GTFOH!

Oh no, it is not. FVU is an entirely new club. It is not under the same legal entity or supervision as the MYS teams. They have separate boards and management. There are no reserved spots on FVU for MYS players (or for players if any other club).

Did you not go to the town hall or read the materials about the club?

Legally speaking, its a different club and there are equal director votes of 1/3 each. Those director votes aren't picking rosters, playing time, or tactics though. The true reality is its still MYS/Union legacy making the decisions that impact the players. Half the coaches and most of the assistants come from MYS. Both boys and girls teams for next year are 3/4 or more current Union players with only a couple exceptions out of 12 teams.

Only three teams across all age groups in the DMV made it to Richmond last summer should be easy to deduce

I assume it Union, NVA, and Arlington? Right?!

Arlington in this age group is really showing some promise

BS to "pathways" and "pipelines" at MYS to FVU if RL kids can't come to tryouts. Its dog eat dog out there folks I will be glad when DD is done with this.

I think this is a one-off the first year the club is formed, because so many existing players have to get cut. It should be better going forward. My DD is in the same boat.

Realistically what were the chances of DD making the roster? Would she have been player 17/18 if she made it or do you think she had a good chance of being a starter on the team?

Still hoping and holding on much? Might be time to move on and accept the reality that there will be no MYS Union soon. Control lies with the Board in FVU and MYS has just 1/3 representation.

Aren't the rosters picked already?

Some MYS RL girls were in tryouts.

I think the point is, that poster's daughter was not invited, so it's not so much a pathway when you don't get the opp to try out. That said, a lot of clubs have to invite you to ID sessions or tryouts or whatever fancy term they use. They don't just want everyone to come.
