A year later, MCPS has done nothing about the bathroom security. Shame on you, MCPS.

Chris Cram will respond and say concerns about bathroom safety are “nonsense.”

Sounds about right. This is EXACTLY what MCPS does.

Mcps dismisses any negative optic making issues.

Did your school administration try to make any improvements in the bathrooms at your school this year? We have heard a few students get a note from the Dr to use bathroom during class time. Ridiculous they even needed to get the Dr involved, shame on MCPS.

Can MCPS get effective vape detectors installed? Seriously, they exist. Like smoke detectors. Even if they're a deterrent it would help.

At BCC we are trying to get parents to volunteer around lunch time to free staff so they can open/monitor bathrooms.

I am not sure how bad it is at other high schools but BCC is horrific. Often we are told it was just one bathroom that was closed for maintenance but the kids tell us almost all of them are locked.
It's demeaning and a health issue.

How are kids supposed to study if they are uncomfortable?

That is not a sustainable nor appropriate to solve that solution.

Parents aren’t trained to do security and shouldn’t be in positions to do that kind of work.

lol. Wait then who should then? You think we have funds to install detectors, fix them when the get broken, and pay folks to monitor bathrooms?

And don't forgot charging tuition for summer courses. Ridiculous.

I would be the parent who stands outside the bathroom with a vape detector in my hand. Heck I'd be happy to install them myself.

Tuition was charged for summer courses prior to the pandemic. Why do you think it would be free?

How much generally is tuition for these courses? I had no idea.
