2024 Senate Elections

The GOP, by running some truly awful candidates, along with Trump sucking all of the RNC money, are really shooting themselves in the foot.

Hahahahahahaha

“Dave McCormick, a top GOP recruit in Pennsylvania's Senate race, has a crucial concern as he gets ready for a bruising election: Getting his party — and former President Donald Trump — on board with mail-in-ballots.”

Democrats have had a huge advantage in mail-in ballots in part due to Trump and other Republicans constantly criticizing the voting method.”

McCormick also has to establish residency in PA.

You would think they could recruit SOMEONE from in state.

This is the 2nd carpetbagger the GOP has run in PA Senate races. Dr Oz lives in NJ and was pretending to be a resident of PA via a 2nd home (his wife has deep roots in PA; her family owns the Asplundh tree removal company - they are worth billions and also a prolific hirer of illegal immigrants - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asplundh_Tree_Expert_Company )

You'd think that after losing the GOP primary in 2022 that McCormick would have figured out that he needed to move into the state before tossing his hat in the ring a second time. Both he and Oz were lambasted continuously throughout the 2022 primary campaign about their carpetbagger status. And part of the reason he lost the primary to Oz was because both of them were carpetbaggers. If either one actually held actual residency in the state (not just a paper one) they would have secured a huge advantage over the other in the primary. But both primary leaders were carpetbaggers, were frequently criticized for it and then it came down to Trump coming in and coronating the winner with his endorsement. One would have thought he would have learned and corrected one of his biggest mistakes of the last campaign before announcing he was running again. SMH.

Didn’t he do that already when he was running against Oz in the primary last time?

He owns a home in Pittsburgh, but he doesn't spend much time there. He lives in his mansion in Connecticut and only uses the Pittsburgh home when he is campaigning. But he's still running on his "deep ties" to Pennsylvania. He's still a carpet-bagger.

I understand his position. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. My family lived there for 34 years including the first 18 years of my life. But I went to college in MD and I have stayed in MD since. While i have deep ties to Pittsburgh and consider myself a native son of Pittsburgh, I do not consider just buying a house near where I grew up to establish my residency or my credentials to run for office there. I think he needs to actually move there and live there more than 50% of the time (the standard residency rules for most everything else) in order to qualify for the ballot.

In the 2022 election, cell phone records showed that he spent less than 10% of the time at the home in Pittsburgh, which is why he is still regarded as a carpetbagger. but the PaBOE is letting him get away with it and that's just not right.

They’re seriously doing this again? Is it that hard to find a Republican who actually lives in Pennsylvania?

There are no Republicans the party is dead.

Now they are going to come for the 22nd Amendment. This means installing Trump as King and all of them never leave office.

Yep that's the plan install a King with his court of RW utter shits like Stephen Miller.

So if you want your children living under King Trump and Miller as his overlord find your dam brain.

Message from GOP to "the olds" - you are going to die soon, so you shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Flat out contempt for their voters. That’s a way to GOTV, I guess.

I don't agree with the Nursing home statement, but there is a legitimate concern about elderly people with dementia voting. Some of them don't even know the current year or who is running for president. Family members will take mom to vote even though she has severe dementia believes that we are in the 1970's and that Richard Nixon is president. I don't know what the solution is, but this is becoming a bigger problem as the US population ages.
