Has Whitmer said anything yet? She’s term limited as Governor, if she wants to be President this is a great opportunity for her.
she is definitely one of the front runners

She would be better off running through her term as governor and then seeking higher oiffice thereafter. Being a senator is not a great path to the presidency. Biden was a VP first and Obama caught lightning in a bottle. Before that, you would have to go back several generations to find one.

I think Senators who have been Governors are different than Senators who have just been Senators or other lower legislative positions. People balk at Senators because they don’t have executive experience - that she will have. People balk at Governors because they don’t have foreign policy experience which is what you get in the Senate.

Interesting. She’s way too Squad-adjacent for me so I’d be interested to see who else steps up. She’s another one where the state is probably easier for her to win than her own House district.

Yay for Katie Porter - love her and her whiteboard!

Her House district is going to remain tight for her going forward, so I love this announcement prior to a Feinstein decision.

She has noth9ing to do with the squad other than being a democrat and having a vagina.

The main difference between her and the Squad is that she’s a policy wonk and they’re “influencers.” She brings out the whiteboard and rips apart pharma executives, while AOC posts on Instagram.

She has nothing to do with the squad other than being a democrat and having a vagina.

She votes just like them and she’s a showhorse not a workhorse just like them. She endorsed Nina Turner. Of course she doesn’t advertise being a part of the squad because her district wouldn’t accept it but there’s virtually no difference.
