That's the way it works (has worked, does work and will work) and new precedents should not be set because dems want to play gotcha.

Harvard law professor Dershowitz clearly explained on several occasions the president can’t obstruct justice.

What happened to the Russia counter intelligence investigation that spawned the Mueller probe? It is increasingly apparent Mueller is the fruit of a poisonous tree. He needs to wrap it up before further embarrassing himself.

It is obvious that you are the fruit of the ignorance tree.

Word on the street is that Comey recorded meetings and phone calls with Trump. So there's tapes of DJT blatantly trying to obstruct justice.

It's looking more likely that Mueller is going for an obstruction case in the near term. He's holding back on the actual Russia stuff.

Wow, if that’s true that’s a big deal.

Trump’s shady team of legal advisors are going to be working overtime to keep Trump away from Mueller.

If so, Dershowitz is deeper into his dotage than Trump.

Alan Dershowitz said it so it must be true!

No, it’s "Lordy, I hope there are tapes."

If there are tapes of Trump obstructing justice and committing other crimes, he'd be already under arrest. They would have no need to question him.

The reason they want to question him is to 'Flynn' him.

The obstruction angle begins to make a lot more sense from Mueller's point of view. Let's say he presents an airtight obstruction case against the PoTUS. He will then be able to observe the reaction by the GOP.

Who does what?
Do members try to make moves to cover their tracks and in the process commit more crimes?
Who is actually trustworthy as a witness, vs. who is loyal to Trump?

I think he purposely holds back on Russia in the near term. If the GOP is serious about rule of law, they will begin impeachment proceedings. If not, Mueller then comes down with the big hammers - treason, money laundering, cyber crimes, campaign finance violations, etc to a wide variety of those in Trump's inner circle and Congress.

The FBI doesn't get to "arrest" the President. There's no perp walk when you're the PoTUS. DoJ would present the charges to Congress, which is supposed to begin the impeachment trial. But if the GOP fails to do that, then we have a full blown constitutional crisis on our hands.

Adding lies from his testimony is just icing on the cake.

Remember John Gotti, who headed the Gambino crime family, who was famously known as the "Teflon Don" because every other prosecutor, every other law enforcement agency simply could not get enough on him, simply could not make any charge stick?

Well, it was Bob Mueller who nailed Gotti. And, it wasn't just small potatoes minor charges. He had Gotti put away for life. He worked his way deep into Gotti's inner circle, and turned guys like Sammy "The Bull" Gravano to take Gotti down.

This ain't Mueller's first dance, he's been doing this for a very long time and is very good at what he does. And guys like Sessions and Nunes and Trump are rank amateurs, or perhaps more accurately, circus sideshow clowns where it comes to dealing with Mueller.

Hahaha. I’m sure Mueller feels the same way. One difference: Mueller actually understands the law. BTW Mueller is a Republican and most of the FBI are VERY conservative.

No, I understand the law. ANY president can hire and fire at will with no explanation needed, period, end of sentence, end of argument, bitch.

DP. Not the way that works. But convincing emoji. I’m a GS-13 federal lawyer in the executive branch, and he can’t fire me. And if you don’t know this, then you aren’t a lawyer. Or a sentient human being from the DMV. Merit Systems Protections. Hatch Act.. etc.

But thanks for providing yet another example of why women a fleeing the Republican Party in droves.

Haha. True. Trump is going to be all over the place.

Figured this was going to drop today as we found out that Mueller has already interviewed Sessions. It seems like maybe Mueller is wrapping up the obstruction part of this case, but the bigger Russian conspiracy case is still out there.

Assuming Meuller finds that Trump has obstructed justice (before concluding the remainder of the investigation), would he go forward with charges of obstruction directly thereafter - or would he wait until the entire investigation is done? In other words, can and would Meuller go forward with charges piecemeal?

Can he go piecemeal? Sure. Would he? Seems smart, unless there is a need to go public to protect the 2018 election. His jury is ultimately the House. Why not get a better jury? Plus, who knows what other nuggets the 2018 election turns up?

Google Dershowitz and Trump and Jeff Eptsein to understand why this is a flim flam.
