FB question: If a person's account was deactivated, does that mean they unfriended you?

I have a friend who deactivates when she dumps whatever dude she is currently having an affair with.

And, I have a relative who deactivates seeemingly randomly and then comes back on in a couple days; not sure they understand facebook.

It probably has nothing to do with you OP.

Deactivated=the account is no longer active. She closed her account. Did you try calling or texting? Email is great too.
