Serious Cleveland Park Theft

Well in the spectrum of criminal activity banner stealing is fairly benign when compared to dismembering your roommate and putting his head in a tin after snacking on his brain. While i Would not be thrilled if someone walked up a took my expensive stroller, I understand I risk it being stolen by leaving outside my house in a city. Same should apply to her banner or plastic flamingos or any other tchotchke she has.

If the same guy were to regularly sneak onto your property after scaling a fence, would you feel the same way? I'd be creeped out. This guy has no sense of boundaries.

If it were a neighbor, I'd imagine there are more civil ways of asking you to take down your eyesore of a flag.

The banner is incredibly tacky and in poor taste. CP is not a neighborhood that supports this. However she does live on Reno road......which is telling.

Liberal logic: it's the victim's fault.

Because, while a crime, it's not worthy of the overblown rhetoric employed by wither the homeowner or the OP of this thread.

I assumed the homeowner was the OP.

13:20 People make tacky decorating choices all the time. So what? How can you say CP doesn't support this and speak for anyone but yourself? That why is great to be without the burden of an HOA.

Do you have any idea how hard it would be to hang and take town a huge banner every night??? She shouldn't have to! She should expect to not be robbed and have the other neighbors full support in catching and prosecuting this guy.

GUARANTEED you would feel different if he stole some high dollar thing from your yard.

Still, the guy stole her property. I am surprised at many of the responses here.

If I see someone stealing something off a porch, will I call 911? Sure. Am I going to grab a pitchfork and torch and join an angry mob to start patrolling the neighborhood, as the letter writer (and apparently, the OP) seems to want me to do? Um.... no. It's a Steelers flag, FFS.

Liberals are the victims of your stupid comments. Assuming you believe that to be their fault, may I ask you, are you a liberal?

Ha! After reading the subject and subsequent posts, all I can think of is the wonder pets singing w/ the speech impediment "this is serious." Of course the wonder pets were often referring to a kitten being stuck on a tree or something similar--all of which are more serious than having a football. banner disappear!

Bring your sh*t inside. Would it bother me that someone entered my porch and took my stroller? Yes, BUT I did leave it out and unattended in a CITY. I would file a police report. I would not be so stupid as to hang another and leave it out. Come on!

Cover the next banner in itching powder.

C'mon, give her a break. Someone keep stealing something she clearly values and she's pissed. No one but the OP said it was a "really scary crime". The poster no the CP listserv just said that in her eyes, this is a serious crime, too, someone keeps coming onto her property and stealing stuff. I get it, I'd be pissed too.
