I have one below my inner ankle and really only visible when I'm wearing sandals or shoeless
No regrets. I got it overseas at age 22 when I was a Peace Corps Volunteer and it's a meaningful symbol to me. I don't plan on getting any others. I'm a 46 yo Female. |
I thought about it getting a tattoo but couldn't decide what I wanted. I would get something meaningful and hidden tho. I won't get one now as spouse considers them tacky. I'm 45 and F. |
Do you have one/some? Yes, one
Do you regret getting one? No Would you get one? Yes, I would get more. Where would you put it? Near my other one which is just above the bend in my elbow. Age? 36. Got my first tattoo 6 months ago Sex? F I love the poster who mentioned being conservative in dress but feeling like a bad ass with a tattoo. I concur. I'm a librarian, my tattoo is quite visible and now people can say, "Wow. A librarian with a tattoo." Love to keep 'em guessing... |
2 tatoos: a butterfly behind my neck by my hairline and a inscription about a bible passage on my native language on my foot.
Pretty easy to hide at work and only on the beach or by the pool people have noticed it. Oh and my mani/pedicurist. She always asks what it means and tryies to pronounce it. Very funny. 31 yo female and I want one more, not sure yet where, maybe in the inside of my mouth. Not sure... |
Do you have one/some? Yes
Do you regret getting one? Not really. As a result of it, my 3 year old has become tattoo obsessed, which is weird. Would you get one? I would not get any more. Age? 35 Sex? f |
+1 |
No tattoos. 40 YO f. I think they are trashy and too trendy. |
Eh, no worse than the scary looking woman running around with alien faces from too much plastic surgery. At least the tattooed people will have normal looking faces and a body that can be covered up (well, as long as they did not tattoo their face!). |
|
Trendy? Since when? The Neolithic???? LOL |
Trashy. I'd get a tattoo if I was form some sort of nomadic tribe that got tattoos as a part of their culture, but since I'm not, I won't. |
I think the whole "tattoos are trashy" is such a stereotype. People love to characterize others who are 'different' as sub-human. Whatever makes you feel better about yourself. There are plenty of successful, nice people with tattoos - I'm a cancer researcher with one. |
I knwo a guy, late 20's who has already tattooed about 70% of his body. None on his face or hands so if he wears a long sleeve shirt and pants he doesn't look tattooed. Given his addiction to tattoos i have no doubt he will get more.
I often wonder if he'll regret it later on. I think he will just spend most of his life very involved in tattoo culture where his look is normal and blends in. I think it is limiting though in a way as anyone outside of the tattoo world would likely find it excessive. |
For those of you who think it makes you look like a badass: No, it makes you look trendy, but in no way does it make you look like a badass. Tattoo = badass stopped being true about 10-15 years ago. Now it is simply something everyone does. |
No one said YOU are trashy, they just look trashy. Things I think look trashy: blue eye shadow, big hair, large fake tits, dipping, smoking, butt cracks hanging out of jeans, pink flamingos and cars jacked up on blocks in the yard, keeping on your Christmas lights until summer, and of course tattoos. I'm sure you are perfectly classy, as are smokers, but I still think it a trashy look and definitely not for everyone. |
