Tattoos - Would you? Do you? If so, regrets?

Anonymous
Yes, one
I got it at 18 on a trip abroad
I don't regret it, but since its on my back I also don't ever see it. Maybe I would have changed the locale. Good friend got a very subtle one on her arm in sepia, love it.

I have 1 that is above my back of my hip, not really a tramp stamp but maybe.
It is very meaningful to me, I got it after I got out of a very abusive relationship. I wanted it as a reminder to never get myself into something so awful again.
But, now that I am a mom and a professional, I don't really like it, it's embarrassing at our company picnic and the pool, since no one knows the special meaning, and I don't really want to explain it to anyone either!
Maybe I wouldn't regret it if it were somewhere no one could see

Hate them. Consider them body graffitti. Dont have any and never would. Would kill my kids if they got any.

Do you have one/some? No

Do you regret getting one? N/A

Would you get one? No, I don't enjoy pain and I suspect at some point I would regret the decision.

Where would you put it? If I did, somewhere it could easily be covered.

I'm thinking about getting another one for my 40th birthday, at the top of my left butt cheek. Good place for it, because the fat made it hurt less and nobody has to see it unless I show them. (i'm in a conservative field.) I just love mine. No regrets whatsoever. My 3-year-old daughter thinks it's awesome. I'm conservative in dress, hair and makeup - the tattoo is kind of a symbol that secretly, I'm a nonconformist and a bit of a badass.

Another post where a "Like" button would be nice for DCUM forums!

I have one.

I don't regret it.

It's on my shoulder blade so no one ever really sees it unless I'm in a bathing suit.

I would like to get more when I get a chance, I feel like they make me less plain. I never plan on working in a professional setting again.

Do you regret getting one? Only regret location of one; it's pretty large and on my upper arm, so hard to cover in certain short-sleeved tops. Don't like showing tattoos in the office, so I have to make sure my shirt covers it.
Would you get one? Plan on getting several more.
Where would you put it? One in particular will go from the top of butt to my right shoulder. Also will get a small one on my inner wrist.

You'll regret it especially if you plan to work in an office. My friend did this and has been trying to get them lasered off his wrists for some time and it hasnt worked.

Have any of your ever seen older people (60+) with tattoos? It's NOT pretty. What looks cool when you're 20 or even 30 looks absolutely awful at 60 or 70. Skin sags. Yuck!

My whole body will probably look horrible at 60 or 70 so I don't really care. I don't plan on getting any on my boobs or butt, though, I'm trying for firmer areas that will maintain their integrity.

First, I think they are tacky (again, just my opinion). And second, I don't even like the shoes I bought a couple of years ago. At least I don't have to wear those every day.

Too trashy for words. Anyone see that Curb Your Enthusiasm episode?

Agreed. At 60/70, I couldn't care less about how my tattoos look.

Do you have one/some? Yes, 3.
First one was a small taz (cartoon character) on my lower right side of my back. Not a tramp tag (had never heard of that term until a few years ago). I was 19, high energy, and though taz represented "me" well.
Second one was a small yin-yang on my ankle. I was 21, and had lived in Japan for a year and thought it was a good symbol to represent how I viewed life as well as my experience as an exchange student.
Third one is a medium sized tiger on my shoulder blade, got it when I was 23. My chinese symbol is the Tiger. My minor in college was Asian Studies, and I was very into anytihng and everything Asian, although I am a European mutt.

Do you regret getting one? Yes, regret all three.
First one is extremely juvernile. Not much more I can say on that.
Second one doesn't bother me as much. Then a friend (who didn't know I had a tattoo) told me girls with ankle tattoos were trashy. I said I've got one, and he was of course like "but not you..." I used to think no one would notice one on the ankle unless I was in shorts & sandals, but every now and then I get a comment on it, someone who has seen it through my hose.
Third one I hate. I used to never wear sleeveless dresses or tops, so when I got it I figured it would always be hidden, unless I was in a bathing suit. Then I started dressing up in nice sun dresses and evening dresses that were sleeveless. Instead of normal conversation, everyone would always ask about the tattoo. Not what I wanted everyone to notice...

My husband hates them. Over the last 5 years, I have tried to have them removed. The one on my ankle and the one on my lower back look more like a bruise now. The tiger is very faded but obviously still a tattoo

Would you get one? No more.

Where would you put it?
