With my grandmother, we ran around trying to find foods she craved. Later, I learned that those cravings can be part of the end of life. My parent with dementia went through phases of eating and not eating. |
OP, I'm sorry, I know it's hard and concerning. Honestly...my Dad was like this the last few weeks, and he passed away last Saturday. It's sort of the body doing its thing at the end. I'd defenitely have his urine checked for UTI (because this is treatable)-but in the meanwhile, visit as much as you can and bring him as much ice cream, ect as he wants. My dad enjoyed ice cream and M&M's and we brought them daily for the last few weeks. I treasure a pic I took of him happily eating the candy! Again, I'm sorry OP. |
