The Trump Bible must be an abridged edition. Clearly it wouldn't contain the following verses:
Leviticus 19:34: “The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.” Matthew 25:35: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” Hebrews 13:2: “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.” Deuteronomy 24:14: “Do not take advantage of a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether that worker is a fellow Israelite or a foreigner residing in one of your towns.” Exodus 12:49: “The same law applies both to the native-born and to the foreigner residing among you.” Deuteronomy 10:18: “He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.” Exodus 22:21: “Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner, for you were foreigners in Egypt.” Ezekiel 22:7: “In you, they have treated father and mother with contempt; in you, they have oppressed the foreigner and mistreated the fatherless and the widow.” Matthew 5:38-39: “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.” Luke 6:27-29: “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them.” Romans 12:17-21: “Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord. On the contrary: ‘If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.’ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” 1 Peter 3:9: “Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.” I could go on and on and on with verses that are completely contrary to the core of what Trump is and what he believes. Honestly, that abridged version, if it were an honest reflection of his "faith" would probably be an empty book. |
