That’s describing correctly what was happening from November 2020 through January 2021.

Only when the defendant is a republican former president. When it’s a poor black guy, the police and prosecutors are infallible.

Like his comments were shocking in his cynicism

So the solution is to remove any threat of prosecution for remaining in office illegally? How did this dude get on SCOTUS? He’s dumber than a box of rocks.

He also said that grand juries would indict a ham sandwich. Ridiculous! Why even have a legal system if the head of it thinks it’s crap?!

If he thinks that is true, then why do only presidents get this immunity? Screw everyone else!

Conservative men on the court were desperate to provide a carve-out for Trump and his "official duties" (broadly construed)

ACB was not pleased with Trump's lawyer's arguments. I think it goes 5-4, with CJ/ACB + the 3 Dem judges in the majority to lift the stay and let lower court proceedings move forward.

I think it goes down to determine which actions were official actions and then comes back up again. That precludes a trial before the election without forcing the conservatives to actually rule on immunity.

Just proving how hard they suck.

Is CJ Roberts? The quotes I've heard from him suggest he was on the side of at least some immunity.

Yup. Teflon Don will then win the election, erase all court proceedings against him, I guess…the whole country just lives with a president who committed 91 felonies and got away it. The country will get to learn that “life isn’t fair and sometimes bad people win.”

Trump will exit Nato and then align America with other authoritarian countries. The liberal world then moves away from America because it will have shown itself to be be an untrustworthy alie and because none of them like Trump and his idiotic “America first” bullsht.

When has the DOJ ever tried to prosecute a President for things he's done as Commander-in-Chief? Nice strawman.

Trump tried to steal the election with fake voters and basically wouldn’t leave. It’s insane.

But billionaires will get some tax cuts, so there's that.

Biden needs to go out an announce that he will make full use of any immunity that SCOTUS decides he has.
