Yes. The Indy players play like that the entire game. They are dirty, and don't even play the game. Their coach and administration has allowed it for so long, that now its almost unfair to the kid who was suspended. "I have done this is every game, why do I get suspended now" kind of a thing... They taunt other teams, they play the game trying to injure other players, not playing the game to win. If I was an Indy parent, I would be furious with the style in which they play and lack of adult leadership the program has. Its embarrassing.
I think you need to slow down a bit. Condemn all players for one kids actions? In game and after game are two entirely different situations.
Nothing is unfair to to suspended player, he is well known for this. I know a few kids on the Indy team from travel and they are really good kids.
I have watched almost every team in Loudoun and they all play hard, taunt, go beyond the rules at points, run their mouths and some more than others. I could call out a few specific programs but not going to do that. They are teen boys FWIW. I do know that the officials are itching to throw a flag on any Indy player, as they are tired of the coach, so they are not getting a free ride in anyway. Well deserved, yes.
1. the PP was not condemning all players for the action of one. he was actually doing the opposite, by pointing out that the hyper focus of the player's actions is driven at least partly by the prior behavior and reputation of the whole team
2. all kids are good kids in the right setting, like a travel team tent with parents fawning and telling them "good game" and so forth; but that doesn't mean they can't be trash talking, cheap shot taking losers on the field, which the Indy players seem to be. it is on the coach and the parents.

This one player deserves hyper focus as it is a repeated actions by this one player after the whistle. Again, if it is during play, that is why they have refs and penalties. The refs are looking out for it from them and most likely Independence does NOT get the benefit of the doubt that other teams would on a close call. What you may call cheap shots the refs, players and I may call hard play. If they roughed up your little Connor during a game and the flag was not thrown, guess what no penalty! Its a contact sport and things happen. When they happen after the whistle and after the game it is unacceptable. I only saw one player do that and he should pay the penalty for it. Period.
You obviously have a hate for Independence. Good luck to you. I am not going to be quiet when and will say something when you are generalizing about people when I know first hand that there are good players and good parents at that school, just as at my kids school there are the trouble makers and the good kids too. While I don't like it, I don't condemn my kids whole team.

If you don’t like it, maybe consider PVI if your son is a good player and a 2026 or 2027. And your condescending “little Connor” attitude is not a great look for you either, by the way.
Sorry to let you in on a little secret but my son will not be tarnished by this coach, as he does not play at Independence, but I do know pleanty of people there. I am no friend of the coach or the player that was in this, but I will not let you downgrade all of the Independence kids at the expense of a couple of people. I agree with you and would love to see a new coach there. Would agree with the player being suspended for the rest of the season for his blatant and dangerous actions after the game.

For someone with no son on the team, you seem very invested and angry at the coach and the player, and also angry at people who are judging the team as a whole. but sure, let's just say you have no son on the team, but nevertheless you have watched the team enough to know that they are all saints except for one player. got it!
Lets just say we put up with all that BS from a small group in rec and know them well. No don't have a kid on the Independence team, but spend summers and autumns with more then enough people from Independence to understand that there are some good people and players there.
So yep, as I said MANY times not going to let you lump my friends in with the small group and condemn everyone. Its ironic how good teams rarely commit penalties, and rarely, if ever, have these types of issues.... Have you ever watched 2 really good teams play.... Almost zero penalties. If Indy, and Briar to that extent, don't learn that... they will never be in the upper tier of teams in NOVA. That my friends, is a FACT!

the problem is that the "small group in rec" to which you are referring sets the tone of Indy team, and is the face of the team, and the basis for its reputation. so even if your son (oops, I mean your friends' sons) played with great sportsmanship and a super clean brand of lacrosse, which they don't, their reputation will be set by the small group from rec.

My kid played there 2 seasons before graduating. I’m thinking it’s a different coach because coaches and players were nothing like you described.

Not to take anything away from Riverside's win, but BW was missing 3 Starters to DECA Nationals and being sick. Every team goes through it at sometime in the season. Hopefully they both play again this season in the playoffs.

This is why people hate Indy. False sense of relevance. They also think they beat Robinson. Robinson would beat Indy by 15+ goals.
