Riverside won it was close. |
Is this a girls or boys thread? |
Thread can be both just be mindful of the response. It sounds like Riverside girls may have lost to Madison the Boys won. Riverside is clearly the top boys lacrosse team in Loudoun and most likely in VA. Great to see that Loudoun is still the center of lacrosse in the state. |
Let's not get crazy here. They won by one in overtime. There is only one team in Loudoun that can compete with the top five teams in Fairfax. Loudoun gets weak very quickly after Riverside. |
That was a very fast, high level lacrosse game last night on the boys side. I am struggling to believe other teams in Loudoun are playing at the same level that Riverside is right now. That may change as the season progresses, but I would assume Riverside would improve also... |
I've seen Briar Woods and Indy play this year and neither is close to Riverside. |
maybe change thread name to boys loudoun |
This is a Loudoun lacrosse thread about Loudoun lacrosse and the kids who live in Loudoun. Was comparing to Riverside being above the other Loudoun teams and they are likely the top teams in the state. But the thread is also not just about VHSL but Loudoun in general. Lets not forget the boys on Braddock road would also be ahead of any of the Fairfax schools in the top 5. |
NAH we are an inclusive group in data center country |
That’s fine. May just want to put boys or girls in front when posting scores or making comments to avoid confusion. |
Watched the Freedom vs. Stone Bridge (Boys) game last night. Stone Bridge has some young talented players on offense, abd would imagine the program is on an upward trend. Game was close 2-1 (Freedom) at the end of the first. The Bulldogs had possession for at least 8 minutes that quarter but only got the 1 goal. Appeared both teams were figuring each other out, and playing not to make mistakes.
2nd and 3rd Quarters were all Freedom. They scored 5 in each quarter, and Stone Bridge got 1. It was 12-2 to start the 4th. Freedom subbed heavily, and Stone Bridge switched up their Goalie. 4th quarter was evenly played with both teams waiting for the clock to expire. Despite the loss, I think Stonebridge will continue to get better this season, and with that young attack group, figure out how to play together and make some noise against other Loudoun Teams. Not sure they can compete with Riverside, Indy and Briar Woods yet, but I liked the speed and gritty play that was lacking the past few years. Freedom is what they have been for many years, very competitive, well coached, but lack the overall depth to compete with the top 6A Schools and Riverside. They'll win alot of games again this year, but likely won't beat Battlefield. They're likely the #2 Team in Loudoun again this year, behind Riverside, and with BW, Indy and Broad Run right behind them. After those 5 teams its a drop-off in Loudoun. |

Congrats to Riverside for the honor of being the only DMV area team mentioned by Inside Lacrosse. They are on the teams to watch list |
That’ll change quick after they lose Monday. They cannot touch even an “average” private school without their FOGO and from what I have seen and heard he is not playing. |
Not a Riverside fan, but WOW….. I bet you’re fun to hang around…. |
If they lose to St. Albans what would that say about Madison? I think St. Albans is not that strong they have a good shot. |
