Low beta hcg levels -- will things be ok?

Anonymous
I think I am about 4 week along and my beta levels were only a 22 on Monday and then a 64 today. the doctorr said it's good that they more than doubled but that the number is very low. I am so scared I am going to have another miscarriage. Has anyone had low beta levels and still carried to term?

Maybe you aren't really 4 weeks. Doubling is a good sign. Are you having another draw on Friday? It's just a waiting game. Good luck to you.

thanks, yes, another blood test on Friday morning. I hope maybe I am not far along and that's why I am low. Thanks for the support.

Unless you are 100% sure the exact day you ovulated, you may not even be low. I wouldn't worry yet.

My first beta (at 10 DPO) was 7. My doctor was very concerned that it was too low, but it was 367 at 16 DPO and 4700 at 22 DPO. See what happens tomorrow - it could very well just be really early.

Anyone else have success stories here? I got a whopping 8 at 10DPO today. FWIW my wondfo cheapie picked up this level (and even the night before) - guess they really are pretty sensitive. FRER digital told me "not pregnant". Keep me sane and give me some hope for the next 48 hours just had a miscarriage in April...

OP: You can scan this forum (and Betabase) for lots of stories of women who start out with super-low betas and end up having successful healthy pregnancies. And, unfortunately, there are also women (like me) for whom that is not the case.
Without knowing your date of ovulation, it's hard to say; you've got to keep monitoring your beta every 48 hours.

I hope this works for you!

To 20:24 - I am the 13:55 poster with the 7 beta at 10 DPO... I did not get a + digital test until 14 DPO (had really light FRER and a Wondfo tests at 10 DPO). GOOD LUCK tomorrow!

I'm 20:24 Thanks for the well wishes, your post gave me just enough hope - did another Wondfo this morning, and it was darker - so thats positive. Just trying to stay calm(ish) and be thankful for every day that I am able to keep this pregnancy.

PP again - Excellent news!!! My Wondfos got darker every day. When I found out that my first beta was only 7, I completely freaked out - and every story with low early betas that I could find online ended badly. I am so glad I could give you some hope! (I am 7w1d now and have seen the hb twice... so I can offer a positive story for all those negative ones out there!)

OP here, thanks everyone. Just went in for another blood test, we will see how it goes. I am happy to hear there women out there who had lower beta levels in the beginning and all turned out well!

OP - will you keep us updated? I'm on the alternate days from you - so I get another beta tomorrow. It'd be good to have a buddy in all this.

OP here, beta levels doubled so things are looking OK. I got it taken yesterday (Sunday) and it had more than doubled. I go in on tuesday for next test. At 2000, they will do a sonogram. I have had some minor fleeting cramping. I am a little worried about that.

Cramping is totally normal. Hang in there. Those numbers are doubling, so you're good to go.
