To me. Frogmore Cottage looked like one those old DC row house that have good bones, but was not properly maintained, so require a lot of work to make it liveable.

Seemed comparable to what W&K got though no?

What W&K got wasn’t similar to Frogmore House?

I'm asking. I vaguely remember W&Ks first house together being described as quaint and needing some repairs.

I think their first place was the small Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace, where Harry later lived. They lived there while their mansion sized apartment at Kensington Palace was being renovated, and the enormous Anmer Hall — their country property, was being renovated. They also have Adelaide Cottage near Windsor Castle, and a property at Balmoral. Those are just the bigger ones that I’m aware of. I’ll post a link if I can find something quickly.

Holy sh*t.
H & M have nothing of the kind![/quote

William is in line to the throne a true spare _Harry has never been a spare at any point in his life he's always going to get better or better. It's analogous to how in regular families the oldest gets the biggest bedroom or their own bedroom

It's also very likely had Harry stuck around he would have received an upgrade probably from the Queen and definitely when his father became King.

They were given their homes as wedding gifts. Harry was in at that point.

His father was not king at the time. This is really easy to understand.

Nah. His father was rich as the prince of wales. Lots of rich people give their kids homes as wedding gifts. The point above was that Elizabeth bought a new property to give to Anne as a wedding gift. Charles had the money, it wasn’t like his hands were tied until he became king.

But she's still the reigning sovereign. It's not just about money, it's about how things are done. you may not like it but it's how things are, and Harry knew/knows that.

What DC rowhouse has ten bedrooms?

Frogmore cottage has about 5 bedrooms — after being renovated from 5 small 2 bedroom homes. Reportedly. I’d be interested in knowing if the renovations returned the property back to its original floor plan.

DP There may be a few. Logan Circle comes to mind. The 3 story row house my Mom lived in as a child had 6, I think, so a renovated version, especially with a ground floor instead of a cellar, might get close. I just know old NW though. I’m guessing that some row houses in areas where land was less expensive or rooms were smaller might have had 4 bedrooms on each floor rather than 3. Actually, maybe my grandparents had more than 6 rooms. My mom had 2 brothers and her grandmother lived with them, and I know that after an emergency (I think a fire at a fraternity), the family took in a small number of students for a few years.

Anglesy where Will & Kate and baby George lived for a couple years was a 4 bedroom house in the country.

Likely the properties belong to the crown and they weren’t Charles’ to give. Like he didn’t give his personal property to William either.

That list of properties that belong to the Cambridge/Wales... I am the only one that finds it obscene? Especially since he's going to inherit it all in the end.

Obscene compared to what?

I don't he can sell any of the properties that "belong" to him. It's more like lifelong usage.

If you think that’s obscene, check out what William has now as part of the Duchy of Cornwall, which includes income producing properties as well as Highgrove— which I think Charles rents from the Duchy because he wanted to keep using the property.

Anonymous wrote:I'm on another forum, and on a thread about Kate/photoshop pic there is one person who continually just posts anti H+M stuff. Calling them (us? the public?) hypocrites because meghan lightens her skin or something. Like it's this persons JOB to turn every mildly negative conversation about BRF/W+K into an attack on H+M. So bizarre.

I always believed that the BRF planted stories about H+M and have been manipulating the press behind the scenes. It's even more clear now.

This is absolutely true.

I’ve seen that on other threads about royals here too. One woman would report anything remotely negative no matter how mild. Like I once said that something about them looking unhappy or wondered if one of them was unhappy with the other. NBD comments and she’d report them on rapid fire. So. Weird.

This is hilarious and So. Weird. to me, too, because I think Harry and Meghan are awful based on their actions, “revelations,” and so forth, and I’m an actual believer in our system of government, so the whole titles thing is whack to me, and as I’m mixed I’m pretty confident in my antiracist cred (unlike Harry I Didn’t Know That Was A Slur!). The threads on them here: I never saw any racist, shady, bigoted, cutely suggestive of a vile stereotype skirting moderation by not using racist language - nothing. And the Harry and Meghan 4 Eva crew reported and whined at and screamed at everything critical of them, so the threads would close while truly nasty garbage about Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, Kate, merrily would roll on. You no doubt disagree. Shrug.

I do love the new endeavor from them. I’m sure it’s going to out-goop Goop! Everyone loves calligracursive and jelly.

QEII's spider sense might have been tingling when she parsed out the goodies to Harry and Meghan, who knows? By giving them a more modest setup it was almost immediately clear what the attitude trajectory was for H and M. It's not like British royal life was a surprise to anyone before the wedding.

Nope, they are both entitled with delusions of their own important.

The Kate health problem has done nothing to change that imagine.

Charles also owns a property in Transylvania.

I also think M had a hard time taking royalty seriously as so many Americans do and that was a mistake. But I don’t for a second doubt the ugliness that they each went though both growing up a spare in that family and when they were married. The BRF seems seriously dysfunctional and the trolls who hate on them are disgusting and cruel. I don’t blame them one bit for getting out.

When she talks about not being taught to curtsy or any of the protocol, despite that she was American and clearly didn’t know it, it’s so clear they wanted her to look and feel powerless and crass. It was incredibly calculated by the firm. They wanted her to grovel and bend herself into knots to do things their way, with no help. But she wasn’t some 21 year British girl who’d be dreaming of this. She was rich and famous in her own right. So she knew there was another way to live.

Sophie was offered up to be a mentor of sorts to Meghan, and meghan brushed it off.

I think the person who said that Meghan had delusions of grandeur hit the nail on the head. Meghan thought her charm and good looks would be enough. It's not surprising she thought that, because that's how it works in Hollywood. But the monarchy is a whole different kettle of fish. Everyone in the royal family seemed to see it coming except for H & M.

Meghan absolutely thought she knew how to royal better than the royals. And why didn't Harry explain the protocol to her.
Her delusions of grandeur also got her the failed podcast and Netflix flops. She doesn't listen to advice from experts...same problem she made for herself in England.
Meghan may think she has charm, but if she does it must not last. Look at how many staffers quit when they were in the royal family and for their charity.

The podcast and the Netflix projects that she and Harry did actually did very well. Check if you’re genuinely interested.

The podcast and Netflix projects were not successful jumping off projects. And she failed to establish a relationship with the PTB.
