s/o New understanding of Harry & Meghan

Kate-gate just shows how utterly incompetent the BRF is at handling adverse events.

H&M have their legit beef, I have no doubt about that. But then their complaining went on too long and sometimes too far, and came off as petty and immature. That really hurt their credibility.

He spoiled and whiny, but I think we was trying to protect his family by moving. I just think he has almost zero understanding of how the world works

They know how to weather adversity. Just wait long enough and the unpleasantness will fade.

We are all going nuts about this - but soon enough there will be something else. The British Royal Family will outlast this just like they have outlasted everything else.

I give it 50/50 odds that the UK is a republic within my lifetime.

I think QEII was holding the whole ship together. Charles and William are angry, spoiled nightmares. They were super short sighted to not keep Harry and Megan as "Canada Royals" who they could call in as needed. I think Harry hates William, and the whole "we love each other as bros" thing was a sham.

I also think Kate is threatening to leave and that's what the real conspiracy is. She's sick of this shit too, and William isn't the prize he thinks he is without the Queen around keeping things in order.

I think he is laughing all the way to the bank. Who would miss being part of an business that is also your family where you have NO autonomy? Now he can make his own money off his name and not be told what to do and when. He was never going to be king, so he knew he'd need to find his own way. And he did. There is no way he's missing this sh*t show.

BRF blew it w H&M. Shortsighted and reeks of Charles/William not being able to see past their egos and to the big picture.

to think just in a few years the “working” royals are completely depleted and honestly dry as a bone. Megan and Kate could have been a modern powerhouse of “girl power” and kept the BRF fresh.

It’s all a shame

Now I see that there were likely many negative stories planted by the BRF PR machine that may have influenced my opinion of them. Diana publicly told her side of the story and wasn’t judged for it. Maybe H&M have some good points to make.

I still don’t think the world owes them a lavish living just because Harry was born a prince and think they may indeed be “f***ing grifters,” as the Spotify exec said. But I suspect Meghan’s time with the family was indeed worse than I originally thought and do now think they were unfairly made scapegoats while William could get away with pretty much anything.

Also, I don’t think Harry was lying about the necklace/dog bowl fight and am beginning to wonder if the hints of William’s awful temper may ring true. The Rose and pegging rumors are sounding truer also.

Anyway, interesting to think how much PR could have influenced my opinions.

I think anyone who regards herself as a good person and delights in the pegging rumors has a metric sh!tton of soul-searching to do. Two female-run gossip sites, Lainey and Celewitchy, have been the purveyors of that based on nothing - yet purport to be on the side of the socially conscious and kindness warrior set. You can’t sneer at the one and be the other.

The viciousness of the online rumors specifically against William and Kate skyrocketed after Harry met his wife, who ran an internet site for a while. I’m a Republican as far as monarchies go, so no, I do not see people who want not so much to eradicate inherited privileges so much as replace those higher up in the line as better people. YMMV.

His lifestyle costs more money than his name can generate

I may now understand more of what prompted Harry and Meghan to leave, and why they had to do it like they did. But since leaving they have been incredibly opportunistic about cashing out on their royal family ties and titles. Especially Meghan, who was there for all of what, a year or two?

DP. Jeff's decision to delete any and all discussion of H&M came about for that reason. While I initially thought it a bit annoying, I understand and support it completely.
