Ok Pride coach |
Two game weeks into the NGLL season, some interesting results. M&D and MDU are still on top. Hero's and BLC have partially closed the gap with the top two teams. Hero's more so than BLC. Coppermine is undefeated, looks good, but hasn't been tested yet. Hero's had a huge win over MDU week 1. YJMA is leading the mid tier teams even with a rough schedule. Stars, CCLax and Legends all in the mid tier conversation for the final two playoff spots. |
3-0 |
Anyone notice the refs were whistle crazy Week 1 but seemed to have gone back to the norm now, or was it our refs we just happened to get Week 1? |
Yep, 3-0 in the B bracket, coach. But happy for the girls that they are actually experiencing success. |
Margin of victory seems to be tighter and tighter between the top teams. It will be interesting to see if that was the result of slow starts, spring breaks or more competitive teams. |
YJMA had a very rough weekend. |
YJDMV is good but their next few games will determine if they belong with the elite 2030 squads |
just like the 26'S who left MCE previously these girls are thriving away from that toxic environment. |
MS refs r just learning the game so they can advance in their high paying job, give them a break. They r also taught to blow the whistle to correct bad behaviors. The 6th graders will also be just fine. Those that really love the game and are good athletes r just prepping for HS. Scores don’t matter. |
Over the past two years there has been a shift of talented girls switching teams to the top 4-5 clubs. Give it another 2 years and the teams will look completely different. |
The NGLL 2030A division has the perfect number of teams. The B division has way too many! With the sport exploding and now all these previous rec teams going club, should the NGLL add a C division?
These one sided games are not good for the game and the teams involved. |
The league has lost its integrity. No C division, let rec players be rec players. At the beginning of the league there actually use to be limited spots based on quality of team. Not every team that could pay got to play to keep the quality of the league, it was selective in the name of development and kept rec programs thriving. Programs and parents have gotten caught up for the wrong reason. |
The NGLL, Robinson Sports and M&D were purchased two years ago by 3Step sports. They are a gigantic youth $ports corporation that also owns Annapolis Hawks, Aces, NXT, Nations Best, The Circuit, etc, etc.... |
ITs all about making money, which is why you have programs like "Best in Class", UA150 and Inside Lacrosse ID Camp, all on the same days. Im sure another event will be popping up because parents will throw money to get their kid exposure and name recognition.
