I would argue that the top team is Blc then yjdmv, after that I would say the other teams are closer to a b teams.

Hard to rank the teams after significant movement during try outs.

This is easy. Most of the good players in this area are well known. BLC picked up some pride players. YJMA picked up some new players as well. BLC is likely the better team. YJMA needs depth and to develop some of the athletes they have on roster that are newer to lacrosse. Pride will be a shell of its former self.

At the 2030 level?? Not so sure about that. We're talking kids who just finished 5th grade...

That said, I agree that BLC and YJMA both seemed to have strong teams last year (post MC Elite to YJ migration). Will be interesting to see how things play out with the recent changes.

You may may not believe this, but the BLC and YJMA coaches know who the best 2030 players are in the DC area.

I understand your point. Just saying that 2030 is really young, with tons of growing and developing still to come. The best player on DD's (pretty strong) rec team last spring didn't even play travel.

I think your point is the the best players going into 6th grade might not be the same girls going into high school given their different development, but I still think there are not too many teams in this area so good coaches know who the best players are for right now.

Who are the good 2030 coaches?

At this age group…no matter if a club has had their tryouts…there is always room on a roster for a talented player and sometimes room for a not as talented player.

A lot of maturity left to go for 2030's. It will all even out eventually. The BLC2030's have a sizeable talent and coaching advantage at this point. Other teams will catch up and some BLC2030's will start looking for more permanent homes in the next year or two. Stars, and possibly YJDMV, will be in the conversation for the best team in this area in the next 1-2 years.

2030 YJDMV played Stars in June and the score was 18-5, so I would say YJDMV is significantly better right now.

For some it will even out and for most it won't. Coaching is a major factor at this age to help develop lax IQ. From what I understand about the different clubs in the dmv is that BLC and probably yjdmv are the only two developing that right now. Pride for sure is not doing that and stars is a few tiers below blc and yj. Wait until the fall tournaments kick off and you'll see where they all stand. Development now is so important

Is yjdmv a new team? Who are the coaches? Are they getting kids from NoVa or moco?

It is primarily the former MC Elite 2030 team with a few new girls who joined this summer. Both Nova and MoCo girls
