I am sick and tired of the baby boomers.

As a member of Gerneration X, I am tired of having to pay for debts created by baby boomers to pay for benefits for baby boomers. If you were born between 1943 and 1960, I'm talking to you. And it is only getting worse. The changes to Medicare being dicussed will have the greatest effect not on the baby boomers but on those of us who follow in their wake. Just because you wasted all you money to buy a micro bus in the 60s, bell bottoms in the 70s, power suits in the 80s and pad thai in the 90s, doesn't mean that I want to bail you out. Let me talk to you in language you can understand, "Why don't you all just fff...fade away, I'm talkin' about [your] generation."

Another thing, The Beatles are over rated.

+1, the whole reduction in living standard was due to their voting of policies to setup themselves up later in life on the back of their children who grossly under number them.

They broke America.

I'm sick of millenials who want flexible jobs and high salaries but don't want to put in the time to succeed.

Entitlement seems to run through ALL generations, it seems.

Baby boomers must be the most self-absorbed generation in American history. The Millenials are coming in second.

"The 51 million members of Generation X, born between 1965 and 1976, grew up in a very different world than previous generations. Divorce and working moms created 'latchkey' kids out of many in this generation. This led to traits of independence, resilience and adaptability. Generation X feels strongly that 'I don't need someone looking over my shoulder.'" Gen X -- face it, we rock. We should go on strike.

Don't forget that after getting high on love and peace in the sixties they changed their mind and voted in the Reagan revolution and the ensuing deindustrialization of America and the destruction of its middle class.

They also voted against health care reform and the public option under the guise of "getting the government's hands off their Medicare". Maybe instead of the Ryan plan, which ensures that my 10-year old will be paying for their Medicare well into her 40s or 50s while possibly not having access to healthcare herself, we should cancel Social Security and Medicare RIGHT NOW, see how they like it.

The are so self absorbed that they even have their own forum here on DCUM.

I also blame the Boomers for the disposable society we have now. The prolifertion over the last 50 years of cheap plastic crap that people believe should be used once and threw it out.

I used to make fun of my grandmother for all the conservation practices she learned during the Depression but now I soo appreciate all those things.

Completely agree!! They have bankrupted this country and we (1970's d.o.b. here) are left to bail them out. We will never have the "social safety net" that they have lavished upon themselves and we will work longer and harder to bail out the financial mess their generation caused and perpetuated.

In addition, that generation refuses to fade away. The reason so many in our generation can't make partner at law firms or financial institutions is b/c these geezers refuse to retire and move on. They benefited from the "ponzi scheme" that is any law firm, consulting firm, etc., but the refuse to move along and let the gen x'ers move up and try to reap some of the same rewards. Disgraceful.

So agree!!! They voted time and time again to limit a women's right to choose. Then turned around and cut demolished the very safety net programs that benefit at-risk children.

They'll be dead soon.

I never know what I am. Am I a baby boomer or a Gen X? I was born in 1967. I am 44.

THIS! Our 22 year old nanny, who comes from an upper middle class family, constantly bitches about how her husband works so hard at his 45 hour a week retail/sales job for 40K and not-so-subtely comments on how much we spend on things. Hello, DH works 80 hour weeks as a surgeon after years in school. Of course our household income in what it is. We worked our asses off for it!

Guess who is getting replaced by daycare in Jan? Can't wait to get rid of the little whiner!
