My thoughts and prayers go out to you. And I hope that some of the suggestions from other posts on DCUMs help you find an answer. Please keep us updated when you have time. And keep taking care of yourself as well as baby.

Same here. I think of you guys often, and thank you for updating us. Take care.

OP here.

I am doing cartwheels right now. We have been working on a weaning plan for DS for this past 11 days. He lost a little bit of weight but looks healthy and is making good diaper output. His intake has progressively gotten better. He just downed 4 ounces in 30 minutes (although while asleep).

Weaning Day Oral Feeds (ounces)
1 4.9
2 8.3
3 8.5
4 8.0
5 9.2
6 12.5
7 14.8
8 16.8
9 16.7
10 18.0

That's great that you are making progress. I don't know if you have done this, but you could always rent a baby scale to keep track of weight gain. That really helped me when I was doing a slightly different thing. I was weaning my baby from the bottle back to breastfeeding, but it helped me monitor my baby to make sure everything was going ok. I'm so glad you are getting there with your baby. I think of you very often.

Awesome!!! You must be thrilled! Keep it going and thank you for the update. Your son knows how much you love him and he's trying to show you how strong you've made him!

Excellent news! I'm so happy for you.

I'm a mom of a former severe reflux/aversion baby so your story hits close to home.

Please don't be too shaken by set backs. He'll still have bad days and that is OKAY because as a whole he's getting better day by day!!

I'm about 4 months past the worst of it and I swear I have PTSD. My guy got RSV a month ago and before he got really sick with the usual symptoms he started refusing to eat. I totally went to that "dark place" right away and was so, so upset and crying thinking it was starting again. Our pediatrician assured me that babies don't like to eat when they're feeling ill and that's what was happening. I totally didn't believe her until he recovered and started eating like a champ.

I do notice that although the aversion is gone (he nurses and bottle feeds fine now) that he's a little "funny" when it comes to eating. I think there will continue to be issues relating to eating after having gone through what he did. For example if he's full and I continue to offer more spoonfuls of food he will start to cry rather than simply turning his head (like most babies do). So I have to be supersensitive with anything food related. Anyways, I'm getting ahead of things here I guess.

Once he gets consistent with the dream feeds try the bath feeds....they worked wonders for us.

Take care and best wishes!

Don't worry about the temporary drop in weight while you get back to eating. It's just part of the process! Wonderful news.

I am so happy to hear this news--yes, even though you've probably never met the folks on this board I have a feeling that many, like myself, have been thinking of you and your family a lot and hoping for the best news. I think his feeding success its also a testament to how hard you've worked and what an awesome mother you are and will be. Lucky boy.

I also want to thank you for helping me to realize how lucky we are with a healthy eater--I think its something many of us take for granted unless we happen to be in the camp where it is not a given. I hope I can remember that when I get stressed about lack of sleep or bitch that I can't have dairy for a while.....

So happy for you and the little guy OP? What do you think made the difference? The Haberman? Did you try the thickener?
Will keep sending good thoughts your way...

So, so happy for you. I hope that you are finally turning a corner. And please remember to take care of yourselft as well. I would think at some point, you will need a mental break or support mentally after all of this. Try to find time for it when you can. Again, will keep sending good eating vibes your way.
