Does anyone else hate lasagna?

I make the best lasagna. The frozen/store bought ready made stuff is disgusting.

I agree. Americans take a great dish and completely bastardize it into.something awful.

I make mine with a homemade beef and pork ragu, bechamel, and I buy fresh lasagne noodles, not that nasty dry crap from a box. My modification from the traditional is I add a large amount of mushrooms and spinach that is cooked down and sometimes I add a thin layer of eggplant that has the water drawn out. Never any mozarella to croak on me ricotta. Just some fresh parmesan on top.

I don't make it that often because it takes a long time.

You are talking about making lasagne, not lasagna. Lasagna is the bastsrd child of lasagne.

Huh? No.

lasagna = the singular form for the type of pasta used in the dish
lasagne = the plural form (used because obviously you include more than one piece of lasagna noodle in the dish)

I don't like it. Too heavy, too much cheese and/or bechamel. Also, too soft/mushy.

It depends on the lasagna. I don't care for the frozen ones. And I really don't like the nasty one my mom used to make that involved cottage cheese and ground beef.

I will eat a small portion if it's the only entree, mainly to be polite. But I'd never voluntarily choose it. I am not a picky eater at all, I just don't like it very much.

Very good Google, but I'm Italian and we don't call it lasagna, ever. Just because thr word exists in singular form doesnt mean that is hobbits said. Just the same as Americans wouldn't say I need to wash my clothe or I can't read that, can you hand me my glass?

I love it! Lidia Bastianich's is my go-to lasagne recipe.

Anonymous wrote:No, I love lasagna. What I like are the stacked layers, the just right amount of sauce , and the various cheese. Its so creamy and tasty.

THAT'S EXACTLY WHY I HATE IT SO MANY LAYERS

Yep. This is one of the many things I dislike about lasagna.

Lasagna can be terrible if not done well...I make a lasagna bolognese and it's the only one that I will eat.
