I didn’t realize mom cliques are still a thing. They felt uber uncomfortable seeing me there. I texted one of the mom’s later and said I didn’t realize there was an invite only Friday gatherings. Bus stop interactions will be interesting on Monday! LMAO! Share your favorite mom clique story DCUM.

They sound like barely functioning alcoholics. I would consider yourself blessed to not be around these individuals. I bet they're aging like kaka with all that alcohol.

Agree. And I suspect we’re getting some mom wine hangover fatigue pushback.

How does having lunch with friends at a winery indicate “barely functioning alcoholic”? I’m truly curious.

No. You’re not.

Do you have an answer to the question? How does having lunch with friends at a winery indicate “barely functioning alcoholic”?

Honestly i find you exhausting and don’t feel like explaining why day drinking is a bad look.

Yes, isn’t it exhausting when someone calls out your nonsensical comment and you are intellectually incapable of responding? Gosh, that’s just the worst.

lol. So deeply on brand. Continue?

Continue what? You were asked to explain your comment; you apparently can’t. What more needs to be said?

I wasn’t my comment. There are multiple responding.

I have a very boring mom clique story. There are a bunch of anorexic moms who attend the same evangelical Christian church. And their kids all have obscure Jewish or old Testament names, which is not relevant to anything but just a weird detail. Anyway, they absolutely will not make eye contact or talk to anyone who does not go to that church.

+1, we actually don't get much info from OP here, certainly not enough to draw conclusions. The people who are assuming good intent by this group and hurling insults at OP are simply showing themselves up.

That…sounds like it might be cult.

15 moms is not a clique. Any more inclusive and it would be an official pta meeting

You mean like the people assuming the lunch goers are all alcoholics when OP was at the same place? Birds of a feather.

Because it's a group of women, it's a clique? What if it was families? Or mix of moms and dads? It only bad bc it's women.

A couple of us + kids went to a weekend event together and ran into others from school there. Are we a clique?

OP Here—Yes. Two of the moms that live in my subdivision are always invited to all of the events I host and I have been invited to their events as well. They live in my subdivision. There were three other moms that I am always friendly with, no issues.

I also don’t understand why the original post indicated cliqueiness. I am not close with moms at school so it wouldn’t be at all uncomfortable or weird running into them together. Is OP close with this group of women? Have you been out with this group in the past so it’s odd that you weren’t invited this time?

Does it seem like you weren’t invited because it was a different group or did it seem like they all were aware you wanted to come and all decided against it?

Any chance they just weren’t thinking about you when planning it?
