Different. He didn't release them. She is releasing them, but edited. As I asked before, then what is the purpose? To confuse, distort, emotionally charge the event, which is latest highly emotional. It's all political. Don't worry, dems will sniff this, change "the narrative" tomorrow and turn this against republicans, again. Their playbook every time. When it happens, at least you'll know what to look for. |
| Curiously, WaPo reports the transcript release differently. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/06/19/attorney-general-government-to-release-some-911-calls-with-orlando-shooter/ I actually kind of agree that there's no reason to air his pledge of allegiance to ISIS (the caliphate). It's quite a reward for doing a bad thing, however sincere or insincere he was about it. We all know he did, and releasing a tape or transcript of it seems to further his ends and possibly encourage others to copy him. Whatever information is or is not released, I won't be reading or listening to it, personally. Everyone else will have to find out what is released and what is redacted without me. |

Wasn't Bush covering up their screams of allahu Akbar, keeping the truth from us? It's a conspiracy. |
| Why release them at all? If they are trying to avoid re-victimizing the people who went through this horrible event (as Lynch stated), why release them at all? This makes no sense. |
| Seems releasing his ranting shirt glorifies his insane world view. Why would you do that? |
| I would think she wants to hold back because they are still investigating his wife and the Mosque he attended which has now produced two known terrorists. |
Exactly. I can never figure out why people always want us to react exactly as terrorists want. |
Because the Right and the terrorists have a more shared worldview than they'd like to admit. |
Well the refugees are fleeing ISIS, so closing the borders to them is helping ISIS. |
So let's look at this. I'm a Jew. I say never again. And mean it. But people have 'never again' a bit mixed up. Back during rise of the Nazis, there wasn't a group of radical Jews mixing amongst peaceful Jews, killing everyone in their path in the name of Judaism and God. There weren't Jews who were outright saying they wanted to kill us - and have done it over and over again to prove their point. We KNOW this isn't all Muslims. We DO know this is SOME Muslims. So it stands to reason, Mosques should get greater scrutiny, given we have seen some of Imams share the same views as the attackers (see video of Imam at Orlando mosque saying killing gays is doing them a favor). It stands to reason we would want to slow down or stop the bringing in of refugees until we can screen them properly, not half-assed. And for God's sakes, work with the churches in Syria to bring in Christian Syrians who are being persecuted by ISIS. I dare say the priests there know their parishioners and have for a very long time. Europe is a very good lesson as to why it makes no sense to wantonly bring people in. Our own CIA and FBI have warned they cannot properly vet. We know who our enemy is - Radical Islam. They are screaming it from the rooftops. It's time we listen and do it right. |
| In addition to my "never again" post above: Johnnie Moore, author of the good "Delaying ISIS", and Glenn Beck's Nazarene Fund teamed up around Christmastime to rescue Christians from Syria. They did it under a shroud of secrecy. vetted each one with the help of the churches and a team of security experts, and settled the groups into small European countries. These people were accepted into the communities and the churches. Not one of those countries have had a terrorist attack. Seems to me we already have a model to follow. http://www.christianpost.com/news/glenn-beck-johnnie-moore-evacuate-iraqi-christian-refugee-slovakia-152273/ |
| ^^^ That's book Delaying ISIS, not good. Need more coffee |
Bush was a problem as well in this regard, yes. |
There was no controversy in American minds as to who caused 9/11. There was no whitewashing. |
Funny, those on the right would say this about the left. So a bad argument, for either side really. Let's not make this radical Muslims plus far right Americans vs. the left and good Muslims. You have no right. How about radical Muslims vs. the left, the right, the middle, the gay, the straight, and yes people who speak out against gay 'rights', homeless, women, children, religious and non religious. We're all American and that's what we have in common. The left is trying to divide here and it's scary. |
