S/O- what do your engagement and/or wedding rings look like?

Engagement ring is a simple round solitaire of about a carat in a knife edge platinum setting. The diamond was inherited by my dh. Wedding band is a small 5 stone diamond platinum band.
Dh has a titanium band, but only wears it for special occasions.

Engagement ring is a simple round solitare (about 2 carats) in platinum setting. My wedding ring is an eternity band set with individual diamonds I have no idea how big each diamond on the band is, but they are small.

Engagement ring is a tension-set diamond, ~0.8 carats. Like this one: http://www.belenky.com/images/jewelry/steven_kretchmer/OMEGA_ROUND_400.jpg

Wedding ring is turquoise and diamond, like this one but in white gold. Husband is from New Mexico and we wanted the turquoise to represent that:

If I described mine specifically, anyone who knows me would ID me immediately. My engagement ring is an old family ring and my wedding ring is a plain gold band made to fit with the engagement ring.
It looks 100% nothing like the platinum/white gold/big solitaire/etc rings that are so popular now. Some people probably don't even get that they are eng/wedding rings at all. Which is why I love them. I am not a jewelry person as a rule so I like the fact that they have family history and don't just say, "Look how much money DH can put on my hand."

My original wedding band is a yellow gold comfort band, pretty wide. We could not afford an engagement ring.

Several years later, DH gave me a three-stone ring, which is platinum with a 1-carat diamond in the center and dark sapphire stones on either side (each about .60 carats), round cut, and a matching thin platinum band. I wear this set most of the time but sometimes I leave them in the jewelry box and wear my original gold band.

Those look beautiful! How is it holding up? (I might be too superstitious to take something less durable for a wedding ring.. but I know that's stupid.)

Only three year out, but it still looks really nice. The company will also re-polish the rings if they start to look worn. The material choice was kind of made for me, because I knew I wouldn't be comfortable with traditional precious metals/stones, but I've come to appreciate the the symbolism of wood. Like many modern marriages, it can break, so you need to treat it gently. It likely will get scratched and dinged, but you get it repaired and keep on going.

My engagement ring is my mother's 2 carat tiffany platinum solitare and my band is a thin gold band. I never wear the engagement ring since I only like to wear yellow gold.

E-ring: I have a heart shaped diamond center stone with two pear shaped sapphires as the side-stones set in platinum. I didn't like the look of normal e-rings and wanted something a bit out of the ordinary/unique since I'm not a big jewelry person to begin with. And yes, I asked specifically for the heart-shaped stone - oh, the horror!

My band is just a thin platinum band that was meant to sit flush with the e-ring. It is now soldered together with the e-ring so that it is one piece.

At some point, I'd love to have an anniversary band with diamonds and sapphires because they are gorgeous together.

My husband, though, lost his band doing yardwork about 2 years ago and we haven't replaced it. Thank goodness it wasn't platinum - we had bought a white gold band for him so that the color matched mine.

I only wear one ring. When we got married, we were broke. We could afford an engagement ring or a honeymoon. I chose the honeymoon and I've always been glad I did.

For our 10th anniversary, I got my long-awaited "upgrade" ring, which I love. Two rows, each with 5 diamonds, in white gold. It's perfect for me.

I have a vintage engagement ring, circa 1923. Like this - only smaller.

I have an almost completely plain platinum wedding band. They look great together.

No engagement ring. White gold band handmade by a jeweler at The Torpedo Factory. Cost about $750 but would have been less if we weren't getting married when gold was peaking.

None. You can lose a finger if the band catches in machinery. Very dangerous. No watch either.

Engagement ring is a round center stone, basket set. I didn't want it too high because I was afraid I would get it caught on everything. There is a baguette on each side.

My wedding band has a piece of metal that goes around/below the center stone and then baguettes to match the engagement ring.
