He and Michelle are both licensed real estate agents, and early in their marriage they bought a lot of commercial real estate, which they now rent out. I think they still buy properties from time to time. |

I saw a few mins of the Bates family show the other night.
I noticed that the Bates kids seemed a lot happier and engaged, they all had different interests and hobbies. I did have to turn it off when a few of them started singing country songs in this high pitched way and playing the banjo, but otherwise, not as cringey as expected. The Duggar kids have no spark in them. |

For a cult like that it is more important you marry a fellow cult member. God will provide, so it does not matter so much if you marry down Most of them just want their daughters out of the house and married anyway. The story is different when the sons pick a wife. Then they are more picky I liked the Bates family episode. Less commercial, kids seemed more genuine, less trained for the camera/show. Reminiscent of what life was like in the backwoods at the turn of the century. I would like to see a reality show of a large family that does not have enormous wealth. How they get by |
