Women dress up for other women. They are more concerned about what the women think of them. I admit this about myself. It’s. It the patriarchy telling us to dress up. We are doing for each other . It’s a competition.

You consider Bezos, Zuckerberg, Nadella, Buffet, Gates, Pichai, Ellison attractive?

Is anyone else surprised that someone who's getting a blowout for an interview wears zero makeup? It's different from not paying any attention to your appearance at all. Just wondering what her thinking was.

(Not saying that makes gender norms or discrimination based on appearance okay!)

During Covid makeup became less popular and a lot of women just focused on a natural clean look with healthy hair and skin. The trend continues. I also stopped wearing makeup as have a number of people I know. I’m mid 30s.

I'm mid 30s too and every woman I know who would think off a blowout would wear make-up, often pro.done for an interview. I'm sure it depends on industry. I'm MBB consulting/finance and image matters, particularly for women.

You don’t know all of us. I’m another who stopped makeup in 2020 but continue with my hair. We are in different industries because I don’t know anyone getting make up professionally done for anything. Maybe a wedding if they are the bride.

Maybe women are more likely to have dark circles under eyes and other facial detractors than men, hence they need makeup just to look as put together as men without makeup.

Sure if you don't want to get the job.

I blow out my hair almost every day and rarely wear makeup.

But we are talking about women smart enough to be hired for a vice president position.

Exactly. Many female birds are dull colors while the male is bright colored and has to dance or build a house to find a mate.

For a while at Cannes, they wouldn't let women enter film events in flat shoes. https://www.vogue.com/article/cannes-film-festival-mandatory-heels-rule

There have been rules forcing girls and women to wear skirts and dresses in different places and times. Trousers were sometimes banned.

Flight attendants definitely had make up rules.

Women in some places must wear head coverings still.
